yes my EF family, my car was in new orleans during hurricane katrina. i moved to baton rouge in april, but didnt have room at my new house for the 88, because my new garage was filled with furniture and other stuff while i settled in. not to mention the car was still under construction when i moved. i wish i had brought it with me, or at least started moving some of the thing that got ruined.
the interior is complete garbage. it wasnt in the car, but off to the side awaiting a fresh paintjob on the car so i could reinstall it all. all the suede is moldy and stiff, and all the vinyl is molded. the nintendo in the glovebox is corroded. the recaros are pretty smelly as well.
the body doesnt have any dents, despite having 4 sheets of plywood AND my racing harts float around in 8 ft deep water and finally settle on the car. but there was a few spots with bare metal, namely the taillight conversion. the rest of the car was blocked, primered, mist coated, blocked, and primered again, so most of it hasnt rusted, but i dunno if i trust the poreous nature of primer. im sure it soaked in some water. the suspension is and engine are fine, provided the cylinder walls didnt get any water in them. im checking that this weekend. everything else in the garage is trash.

thats bad, but it could be worse. Your going to have major problems with rust from now on. The structural integraty of the car will only decline with age now.

dude thats soooooooo beat, was lookin good too, well i would think that ALL your electronics will have to be replaced cuz they WILL give you problems one way or another. i say replace the body to ensure theres no rust or strip it bare and start over from scratch and replace the eletronics and rebuild the motor. Its the only way to make sure its still gonna be any good to you...IMO. Sorry about that shit, i had flood in my basement apt and had a shitty time for 8 days of floods and rain in my house so i feel your pain.

Unlike other cars that get stronger over time...
Sorry to see those pics bud. Is any of that gear covered under home-owners insurance?

Smartass, some parts do get stronger in time though, such as cast parts that have been heat cycled from use over the last 20 years.

well, i woulda brought everything i could take if was at my old house just before the hurricane. unfortunately, i was already in Baton Rouge when the evacuation order was given, and the police werent letting anyone enter the city. so i couldnt go rescue anything, or protect anything that wasnt moveable. it wouldnt have mattered much anyway, because it was 8 feet of water at my house, and over 20 feet in other places. i think nearly all of this car is going to get crushed. i may pull the engine and suspension.

if your car was completely covered in water, more than likely water got into your motor.
if you think everything is ruined, you should make a list of everything and sell it all on here. one mans garbage is another mans treasure

the entire car was under 8 feet of saltwater for 2 weeks. i sincerely doubt that the seats or the body of the car are any good. have any of you ever smelled marsh mud? it smells exactly like feces. the seats smell like that, and no amount of cleaning will get it out. the suspension and engine are going in another car, so im not selling those. the body is rusting on the surface, and most likely under the primer and bondo as well.
like i said, everything that can be reused will be put on another EF, if it cant be reused its going to get hauled away with the rest of the house. you guys really have no idea how bad it is down there.

i know man, im absolutely crushed by this. not only is my entire hometown gone, but the only thing that kept me sane went with it. now i dont know what to do about being upset, because i used to use the car as a way of calming down. its like now i get pissed at all this drama in my life, and i want to go out to my garage, but my garage is in new orleans, and its full of mud and a tree. so that just pisses me off even more.
