starting & idle problem

cars been givin me trouble again, its been having trouble starting it takes it a good maybe 10-15 sec of turnin the key for it to turn over and run, and after i get it to start it it bogs down while im driving for a couple min. then it starts driving right. the idle problem i have is when i try starting the car after it has sat for 30min to an hour after it has been driven for a while and its up to temp(around 220) it surges & dies, it will rev up to 2-2.5k and then drop to 500 and bounces, and dies, and keeps doing this for couple mins of trying to get it going. a guy at work has a tbi truck and he said a mechanic told him to clean the intake by running a can of b-12 thru the tank, then on next tank to have someone hold engine to about 2k and spray carb cleaner into the intake while someone keeps engine going i used about half a can of cleaner, i did this and it ran real good drove few miles on it, then i went in store and when i went back, it was acting like it was out of gas, had about half tank, i jerked & sputterd my way to gas station & filled up, and drove around for few miles, and whatever was makin mess up must have blown thru it starting driving right... when i was spraying the carb cleaner, i noticed that the driver side injector put more gas out then the one on the pass. side, neither was like a mist but kinda like small drops of gas. it has new tps, plugs, wires, dist cap & rotor, the icm has been tested and passed 4 times and was really warm when got it back. a new cat is prolly needed after 13 years, and after all this gas being sprayed down thru with this problem, cause i can smell the gas in the exhaust. only other change i have done was to go 3in. from cat to muffler, and 2-1/2 inch 1pc pipes thru chrome bowtie tips.

sounds like a fuel pressure issue.

drips instead of a fine cone is definately not good for cumbustion, and a sure sign something is wrong with the system..

have you replaced the filter?

could it be the fuel pump going bad or the fuel pump relay going bad???

yes have replaced the fuel filter, just about 4 months ago, it had probly never been changed, when i changed the fuel filter i changed the air filter too to k&n, and forgot to mention, while it was surging & jerking like it was out of gas, the volt gauge or whatever its called would drop below the mid point, when its usually arond the 3/4 the way across(i forgot what nuber was in middle) if that could have something to do with it to, like maybe my bat on the way out and not giving stuff enough juice, it was driving fine this morning i took it out for a drive around and worked like it was before.

You really need to get your hands on a fuel pressure guage and verify it's within specs. Given that you are seing drip instead of spray would to me be indication of a problem. However, with a guage you can narrow down the possibilites of pump, regulator, electrical, etc.

The voltage falloff on the guage, I wouldn't throw into the equation too much at this point.

well i just checked to see the fuel shooting again since its cold outside & on a cold start, and its shooting fuel alot better then it was after it was hot and sat for 30-45 min. was about equal amounts being shot into both bores, and were spraying good, no drops what so ever. so i guess that would mean the pump is good then? it was a little slow on cranking this morning, i think my bat. is going out the door, and will switch it out this weekend. i had to jump it off a while back, someone left my spare set of keys in it all night and bat went dead with just keys in ignition with nothing on but the ses light so i was thinkin the battery isnt in the best of shape to go dead with nothing on like a stereo or anything
