Duals is more for looks and probably won't give you any more power than single exhuast. Maybe you could gain that much with header back. Jayson does know a lot more than me I know and more than you i'm guessing. Well, about Cavalier's anyways. He's been here for a long time and has seen and read many problems and learns. Just like what i've been doing this past 18 months or so. Learning. Project cav, I know you'll learn that bashing on senior members and noobs is childish.

its childish if you argue when you dont know what your talking about...im an apprentice tech with a fair bit of experience...plus id have to say that rebuilding a talon TSI AWD from the bottom up is pretty good right there since there shit is ass backwards...then i sold that one and came to the cavalier cuz no-one really likes them and call them throw aways

Everyone and there dog owns a cavalier though. They are a nice cheap car to mess with. I personally don't have any experience with cars besides messing aroudb with my own and learning from my older brother that went to school for auto body and auto mechanic and that stuff. He teaches me. I learn.

I just which I had enough money to finish my car by next spring. But me being in college, most my money is going towards that.

I try to be nice and try to learn as much as I can. Because more than likely I will do whatever to my car later. And be on the good side and become annoying and just answer quesitons best to my knowledge if I know something. And if i'm wrong I will be corrected.

everyone tries to bust my balls, none will ever break them.

Uhh no offense, but you will need atleast a stage II RSM charger to even be close to where i am. 2200's dont take to well to boost. Most people running 5-6PSI will run low 15's. Your gonna need internals to catch me, or a really really good tune, and prey the engine dont blow.

I should be mid-low 14's next friday when i go to the track. and since im only running 6.5 PSI, i got pleanty of room left. My injectors will max out at around 10 PSI, so will my fuel pump. I can easily do this cause i got a pulleyboys quick change pulley system, so changing a pullley is a snap.

Unless you upped the size of the down pipe from stock, had one hell of a high flow cat and did a true cat back dual exhaust setup, no, you will not get that much power back on your investment. These cars dont come with too many breathing issuse from stock so unless you get pretty radical with inward and outward flow you or not going to do alot of improving on the platform your where starting with.

You sold a TSI AWD for a Cavalier? What year and what exactly constitutes "building from the bottom up?" Plenty of people like them, and I am one, and no one besides you call them throw aways. Jayson, you should get your car dynoed, I for one am very interested to see what kind of power it makes.

Ditto what thor said. DSMs may not be the most friendly vehicle to get access to everything, and they have a few qwirks, but saying they are throwaway shows his "ingorence". I'd trade any Cavalier any day for a 1 or 2g AWD or even just a TSi/GS-T

Project_Cav

i didnt say the DSM was a throw away..i said the cavalier was a throw away...the talon was a 92 and i sold it for 15,000 to some idiot that was more about THAT car then just getting a TSI AWD..maybe he had sentimental value with that car..maybe he couldnt find TSI AWD and he was silling to pay big money when he found out i was willing to sell the one i had...but i was pretty much done with the talon and after i sold the talon i bought the cavalier i have now for 7000 and then bought a shit ton of parts that are waiting to go into it now...jayson, it is an RSM stage II charger thats set to run at 7-8psi...basically what i bought for my cav is everything that RSM racing has to offer for the 2200 cavalier in their catalogue

thor - when i bought the talon i bought it for 500 running...the turbo wasnt giving boost, the hood was covered in oil on the inside cuz the oil was litterally squirting out of the engine..the whole wheel and steering assembly needed to be replaced..brakes,brake lines, struts, strut mounts, tie rod ends, inner socket assemblies, ball joints, stabalizer links, etc etc etc..i port/polished the head, sent the TB to be bored out to a larger size...cant remember what i got it set too,TOOO much shit..when i was done it was running 10psi 250Hp approx

psyphoJJ it is a true cat back duel exhuast, a 2.5 high flow cat,i bought a 4-2-1 header for my car but it ruined the sound of the exhuast on my car...now it sounds like one of those civics that have a huge 4.5' exhuast tip  so i bought a 4-1 header from RSM instead, hopefully that one will sound alot better

-Jayson-

the header didnt ruin the sound of the exhaust, its that massive pipe you got. And a stage II RSM blower on a 2200 might make high 14's. That is might. But id more likely expect low 15's out of it.

You really should have done some research before you bought a cavalier. You bought a real dud of an engine to try and mod. For 7G's you could have got a used z24 which would have been a much better platform to start on. The engine in your cavalier has been named one of the top ten worst engines of all times by more than a few magazines now. Let me break this down for you how much ive spent on my car.

Car 8500, purchased last spring with 32000 miles
GM Supercharger 2,200
Shiftplus - 35 bucks
Engine mounts-85 bucks
Smaller Pulley- 150 bucks
Header - 140 bucks

ive spent roughly 11010 on my car, and it runs mid 14's, i havent been back to the track on a cold day in a while.

I know youve spent alot more than me on your car, but your barely going to be where i am. Honestly if your serious about building a fast cavalier, do an engine swap first. You get can an Ld9 or ecotec motor for dirt cheap. They overflow the junk yards. Just going to a junk yard and buying a 500 dollar engine, trans, and ECU will put you pretty damn close to where you will be once you install that supercharger. Its not uncommon to see nearly stock Ld9 and ecotec motors run low 15's with a good driver.

thats true..its good i live close to the RSM store and that after i bought all this crap they gave me a membership cuz at least i can take all of it back as long as its all still in the box..which it is..thanks for letting me know that cuz i dont know alot about cavalier's i only bought this one i got cuz it was cheaper by 400 bucks on insurance a year where i live...but if you say that its better to go with the LD9 ? (Z24 engine) or the new ecotec then i guess thats what i shall do

thanks for the info buddy

True duel exhaust is dual pipes ran from the cat all the way out. Going single pipe from the cat then having it branch off into two pipes that end up making the duel exit is a different animal all together.

no Tue dual exhaust is done with 2 completely seperate exhaust systems. 2 headers, 2 cats, 2 pipes, 2 mufflers. Common on V engines, a straight engine would be kinda pointless.

Im talking true duel for our cars. Yea know, single header setup, no damn room under the car for dual cats.

You have got to be kidding me. Jayson, your saying he is taking te internet too seriously and look at you, arguing furiously like a 13 year old. And I was wondering how long it would take before you started bragging on your car.

Everyone needs to settle down or I will start handing out more bans.

And Jayson, have a nice vacation, see you in a week.

Flaming/Harassing: Very simple. Dont do it. Do not start any import vs domestic wars, you will be banned. Do not come in here and trash talk J-Bodies. You will be banned. Overall, dont be stupid. And yes, I am the judge of what is stupid and what is not. Behave yourselves children. Most importantly, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT EVER slander someone else's car. Period. End of story.

Now I have to clean this thread up and get rid of all the stupid.
