I have a 93 ford explorer and when i start it up it starts fine and it idles fine and when i take off (when cold) it runs great i can step on it and it has lots of power but as soon as it starts to warm up and i step on it
the motor or soemthing starts pinging and making this really loud noise i was told this could be low fuel pressure and my fuel pump was hummins so i just replaced it anyways but that didnt solve anything you guys have any solutions also i want to add that i just had the transmission rebuilt with redband shift clutches a shift kit and a stall converter idk if this has anything to do with anyof it also the truck is lifted 8 inches in the front and 6 in the back with 33 inch tires if that helps anything do you have a idea on where to start thanks alot

My mom's 93 does exact same thing! Clean MAF sensor, it seems to help, located a few inches behind air filter. It tends to get dirty sending a rich signal, so it leans the engine out causing ping. Disconnect battery. Security torx bit from Autzone required to remove the 2 screws, spray sensor a little bit with carb cleaner. If can't find bit, open air filter box, look under and you will see a screen with a big airway and a smaller one at the top. Spray directly into the small airway to clean dirt off sensor. Also only run the best air filter, no cheapos. Maybe, sensor won't dirty as quick!
