Tranny or brakes?

I just bought a 98 dodge grand caravan (sport). It drove great for a month. Now (randomly) when I stop at a light or stopsign it won" start moving again. I switched to reverse and it tried to go but seemed like the brakes were stuck. When I got towed (stayed in DRIVE) it seem to break loose and drive normal again. I know that this model of van has had some transmission problems. Could this be the brakes or transnsmission?

I had the same problem with my previous '00 GC.
It turned out to be the back brakes (drum). When the shoes got down to about 40% and there was a lot of water on the road, the brake would lockup right as I came to a stop. After have a brake job done on it, it never did it again.

If you left it in DRIVE when you towed it you'll probably have transmission problems now! NEVER TOW WHILE SELECTOR IS IN GEAR! YIKES!

It is quite possible that your brakes are locking up, possibly a front caliper even? These tranmissions get have a bad rap due to misdiagnosis and people using the wrong fluid in them - IMHO.
