Poll: How fast is your Escort?

I've got a 97 2.0 SPI coupled with a 5 speed. I've had it up to 105 and it just won't do no more. 110hp may not seem like much but it's not too bad for a car that weighs just on the other side of 2000 lbs. What kind of Escort do you have and how fast is it?

I have a 1993 Ford Escort LX 4-Door Hb with the 1.9L SOHC with 190,500 miles. I went about 77mph last night. The speedo goes up to 85mph. Some day i'll top it out. :)

Got my 94 lx, up to 100. Due to instability at those speeds, afraid to push it past 100. Got a cold air intake, and five fwd transm.

1999 Escort LX. I've had it to 125 with plenty of pull left, but not enough road. Damn "modded" Civics couldn't go fast enough so I had to brake. That was scary with warped rotors.

mine's not running now... but I think 117... it still had pull left... completely stock 95' 1.9l cept some custom intake work done (sorry I was broke back then)...
I have since gotten a Stealth (Dodge)... and can't afford to keep both running...

i got 117 from my 1.6 Mexico, ran out of road to see how much faster it would go, but seemed to still be pulling.

i doubt escorts have the beans to go that fast.except for the zx2.and those speedos arn't very accurate at the upper range.

Since I've gotten older I've decided it's not how fast it'll go but how long. I like the prospect of getting 300,000 miles out of my car :iceslolan

I've been 115+ mph several times racing friends. They can indeed go that fast. Hell, I've beat a zx2 from 70mph to 120mph.

yeah, and like I said, we had some custom intake work... though that's only netting a few hp... it was enough

ive had a 120hp v6 91 taurus automatic over 90 im sure a car w/ a lot less weight can do a lot better

yeah, I had a 3.8l v6 taurus(89, my first car)... bent the speedometer needle... and it was still pulling... raced my boss' truck... it had a 350 and exhaust... those are a whole different beast though

13's @ 100+ traps.

Mine tops the 85mph speedo with ease. Just a tune up and cut out the air box mod(free btw).

Jeff, interested in what turbo kit you used or what header/turbo did you get? I was thinking about that for mine but with 193k on the clock...I don't know if its a good idea. What did you do to feed the engine fuel..and FMU? thanks in advance.

BTW...Escorts, even ZX2's are NOT fast.
