Fuel pressure regulator

98 GMC 1500 5.7 350 vortec is this a pretty normal thing that needs to be replaced on these at 113,000 I have had 3 mechanics that tell me this is my problem, truck runs great! and starts good in the morning but when it warms up it still starts ok it just turns over about 5 to 8 times before starting.

Very common. I helped a neighbor with a 97 Yukon. Hooked up a fuel gauge and then started it. After he shut it off, the pressure dropped to 30 in about 10 or 15 seconds. It was 0 in a minute. A new FPR and it held pressure after shutting it off. Warm start problems went away.

If you search some of the chevrolet truck forums, you will see that this is very common problem.

Yep, changed I out the regulator last night starts great, Idles great, I wished I would have known a few months ago how simple it was to do it I would have already done it, thanks for the feedback, by the way were does the fuel that the regulator leaks when they leak go I saw were it cleaned off part of the lower manifold from leaking so were does the fuel that was leaking end up? in your oil?
