Engine cuts out - no codes

My 2002 Honda CRV has the engine cutting out from time to time. It starts back up immediately. The check engine light came on once, but there was just part of a code in there. It seems that when the engine cuts out, the car is usually not level, but at some kind of an angle such as going up an on ramp. The car is usually at a complete stop or almost a complete stop, then it dies when I step on the gas pedal. Everythig checked out fine when my mechanic looked at it. Any ideas what the problem could be? Thanks for any help.

When the car dies does the lights on the gauge cluster light up? (CEL, ABS battery, door ajar etc.)

Or does the entire cluster go black.

Yeah - I had exactly the same problem. Had to replace the main computer.
