Went out and test drove one, all I can say, is WOW. MUCH more power then their previous model.
Would like to know if anyone else has an opinion.

You can't go wrong with a nissan product. We had 2 sentras in the past. Trouble-free vehicles & any dealer required service was always painless. IMHO- the xterra is as close to a rodeo in size, construction and capability as you can get today.

I keep saying to the wife that this would be the vehicle I would get if the Rodeo ever had problems...

Ditto. I keep teling the GF that my next vehicle's going to be a yellow XTerra and a "SHORTBUS" license plate.

Seriously thinking about it - but after a year or so of the newer models.
Won't get ride of old faithful, though, unless serious problems arise, but I'm seriously thinking of getting an Xterra instead of another Rodeo.
Done gave up looking for an older Rodeo - that and I don't know if I want two higher mileage vehicles.
I like the engine/tranny of the 2004 Rodeo's - but I don't want parts to be $$$$ or hard to find in the next decade.

could be the same block and pistons...the heads and intake may be a little larger in the xterra....
