I have a question, will the 99 lifters fit in a SOHC... b/c they specifically say made for DOHC... but I've got the infamous lifter tick and wanna get rid of it...

Um, I'm gonna go ahead and guess they wont, if they are specified for DOHC.

Totally different. And I bet if you use a screwdriver as a stethoscope you will find the noise to be your injectors. I thought I had lifter tick too till I started doing some prodding. Sure enough its just the injectors pulsing. I have 150k on my engine and no lifter tick.

I did have lifter tick once in my car though. It happened when I had a severe oil leak and was severly low on oil.

so, should I buy new injectors... b/c I know that the ticking I have now is much less than when I was low on oil...

The injector tick cannot be cured. Its the sound they make when they pulse.
