Hello everyone. I Might be having some problems with my clutch. The main problem i am having is that the clutch pedal has way too much give before it is depressed. now this happened this morning when it was cold and throughout my entire 30 minute drive to my destination. however once i parked my truck turned it off and let it sit for about an hour the clutch was back to normal. would anyone have any idea if this is preimminent to failure? BTW i am driving a 1997 Chevy S-10. Manual 5 speed 4 cyl. Thank you for any advice you can give me.

I am driving a 99 s10, and i am having a very similar problem with my clutch. Too much play, and after a long stretch without shifting, say on the freeway, the clutch will go to the floor, and I have to pump it. I've had the hydraulic system flushed and bled before, and it fixed the problem right off. but it came back. I was curious what help you got with your clutch.

thanks.

if there are a lot of miles, 75K+, on the clutch i would just have it replaced. if you have the flywheel machined make sure to use the correct spacer to bring the flywheel surface back into its correct position. you could always get a new one :). and get a good clutch too, cheap clutches are cheap for a reason.
