C'mon, what the fuck is wrong with Nissan, this looks like an RX-8 and 350Z mixed together. :thumbsdow :disappoin :headshake

I really like it. It's more sleek than the 2001 concept, and the exposed carbon fiber bits(grille, front bumper, A-pillar, rear wing) hint at more carbon body components.
Anyway, this is still just a concept, you know. There will still be some changes made to the production car, but how much will be changed is anyone's guess.

I'm in love with it! I seriously hope the car gets to the United States, I'll sell every car I own, and go $40,000+ in debt to get it.
Why does everyone think it's ugly? I'm not sure what everyone else was expecting.

I just think it looks like they took an RX-8 and 350Z, mixed it together, then took the 350Z's ass lights and put it on the front. Doesn't look bad but they got no where near as good as they did with the R34.

Well I agree with you there... But keep in mind, all of these cars have always looked somewhat similar. Honestly, I think it's time for a change, and the Twin Turbocharged VQ with the new sleek modern design does great!
I'm excited about it... Hopefully I'll be able to afford the Damn thing.

The $60-$100,000 price range sucks though, but performance will be top notch :)
As for the look, i agree with ZedEx, it's about time Nissan changed the GT-Rs overall look, and I really like it.

I don't see why people thinks its ugly. It looks very sleek, and alot better than the previou concept. It will be interesting to see what this thing will do when its released. I can't wait!

i think it is even worse then the last design, i like the rear but the front just has all the wrong angles, and from teh side it looks exactly like an 05 mustang wich i hate, no rear fenders? the single greatest exterior feature of the r34 was its headlight design and fender flares, some way to incorporate the r34 headlight design would make this car awesome.
this is a proto and i hope they change a lot before the official release.
Im looking at this car or the Audi RS4. Right now the Audi is looking much better and performance of the two cars should be about the same with the skyline performing better slightly because it is a coupe....
i hope they get it right
V6 twin turbo with all wheel drive 400-500hp vs high rev V8 420 hp quattro
im basically just in love with the r34 gtr and i want to see more of it in the next generation, looks will make or break my decision on this car

Oh yeah, I'm with you buddy. I want a U.S. R34, not these 350Z/RX-8/2005 Mustang coagulated conglomerate of a fuckwad piece of puke proto-types that they keep coming up with. I think Nissan should make this fucking dude's design below into the next car. I would sell my truck, my DSM and my Mustang to buy one if it looks similar to this. It really flows from the R34.

That GTR- R3-X flows because it is just an R34 chop, that looks more like what they call a "facelift" than a new car. Personally my favorite Skylines are the R32 GTR-N1 and the R34 GT-T coupe and sedan

I really liked the the proto of the new r35 but i think theyre is still room for improvement. Im really feelin that design that automobile maniac posted especially for the front end. The rear end on the proto doesnt look bad thou.

Not everyone will ever be happy with a car coming out, granted, but get over it, the r32, 33, and 34s are already out, their not gonna make them again, if your so in love go get one of those instead of complaining about a car that you'll never own.
I dont understand, yes the body styling is new, because its a new car and things have to change, how can you tools not be excited by the gentelmens agreement being cut and japanese power houses coming out once again, these cars are going to be monsterous and I for one cant wait to be behind the wheel in one.
someone get these guys a box of tissues, because if you're crying about these cars just wait another 5 years when the line discontinues and they redesign it AGAIN.

i liked the older boxy look, it gives it more "attitude", especially the air intakes on the front facia, me i like air ducts, the more the happier i am, i don't like the grill on this new one, and does anyone know when the production is supposed to start, even nissan has closed down that part of the site. what is this a fucking plane, it's a car, no need for this much security. if it's supposed to hit japans showrooms for the 07 model year, wouldn't that mean, in like the next month they will be out. anyone know, i wanna know if i should start saving, or if i am gonna get something else

OK Everyone Listen up . This is the story on the new GT-R from what i hear in the Nissan world.
The G35 body on the Proto Type is NOT going to be the body they are going to use. The new GT-R will have a whole new body style and frame, it;s own platform. The G35 body is being use "only" for testing of the drive train. Witch the drive train has been shown to put out allot of power ! so they have been working on dialing it down. The over 400hp twin turbo model will have a rev limiter with a max speed of , yeah believe it or not, 98 mph . Nissan is working on trying to raise it. But they have been fine tuning it as best as possible and found this area to be the sweet spot. If you have any Questions , i will do my best to try to answer them. Enjoy the info

i don't believe that the limited speed would be 98mph, i mean do you really think they'd be able to sell a sports coupe, or watever it's considered for 70g if it can't even go quiker than my dodge neon that has a forth the power. i can beleive that they would use a g35 for testing, being that it's called the skyline in japan

I do like the R34 body better than the new GT-R, but I don't think it's horribly disgusting. It's way different from any other car, if you cut out the 350Z, rx-8, and mustang. I think they should have kept the RB26 motor in it, instead of switching to a V6.

the new design isnt the worst thing imaginable for the car, but i want it to b boxy, boxy is good, granted people would have a hard time justifying buying that over an evo or sti, and just upgraded the two of those to eual power. also if toyota reell ydoes come out with a supra, i say put a n/a versin in comp with the 350z and a twin turbo against the gtr

Its been said in many previous posts I'm sure, but the reason Nissan won't stick with the RB26DETT is that it is outdated by a good decade. Word on the streets is that the new GT-R will be rockin' a bored/stroked VQ35DE with turbos slapped on, or perhaps a totally new V8 block based on the VQ design...

You are smoking more crack that was in DC in '85!!! You must be talking about the new Altima...
There is no way in hell that the car you are portraying will be anything close to what Nissan will release as the next Godzilla!!! They have had way too much money and way too much time to release another 300zx. That is what the 350z was for. As far as a new platform the entire reason of having the same platform as the 350 and the G35 is cost savings. The reason the R34 died was because it was on its own platform. Nissan won't make the same mistake twice... well actually a fourth time.
And as far as the body... it is the next obvious transformation of the R34. Think about it... R34 + a 100+ million in wind tunnel testing = the profile that was released at the 05 TAS. Trim and minor details have been tweaked but the main body lines are pretty much set. It is going to look like a sexed up Altima like a corvette looks like an stretched Cobalt.
Bottom line everything you have said is either completely recokulious or has been directly contridicted by the CEOs of Nissan and Renault who are in charge of the GTR35 project.
The GTR35 will be unbelievably fast, responsive and probably still get better fuel efficiency than most things on the market including a lot of "economy" cars released in the states because of the volumetric efficiency increases of adding a pair of perfectly matched turbos, Nissans variable valve timing (that has been copied by every manufacturer on the planet from Honda rice burners to GM trucks) and don't forget the incredibally low drag coefficient of the GRT35.
Nissan has had ties with all the right companies for the past 5 years to screw up the billions in company investment to flop this car onto the market with a 98 MPH limit. That would top it out at about 5k in fourth!!! There is no way that any respectable company would ever release a sports car with a speed limiter holding it to less than 140.
This next evolution of what a true enthusiast bread automobile is suppose to be will most likely keep pace with the enzos and GT4s because of the pure drivability of it. It might be lacking a bit on the straights but will make up for it in the corners; entrance, apex and exit. The engineers at Nissan have had that down for decades and I expect that the new GTR will do the same thing the R34 did... put the rest of the automakers on the planet to shame!!! There isn't a 273hp gentlemen’s agreement on engines any more in Japan so expect well into the upper 400s if not above 500HP.
I have said it for over three years now... I am expecting Nissan to release the world's first mass produced first hybrid supercar in less than six months... 450+HP at the rear wheels with up to 150 ft-lb, possibly more, assist on the front wheels. Electrically spooled turbos will make it have the response of a supercharger without the parasitic loss of a SC.
Have any of you actually been listening to the "spy" reports at the Nurembergring? Everything has been just behind the curtin for years... Don't be suprised when the GTR34 has the VQ42DETT V-8 with cylinders that "turn off" for fuel efficiency, warmup and EPA regs. This is the next version of the Nissan Skyline and it will change the world of driving for decades to come just like it's older and less refined brother did in 97.
This car is going to put everything on the road to shame...
Shift for shift...
dollar for dollar...
horsepower for spine twistinging horsepower... I will happily trade at least a year my life for one, and if you haven't put down the grand deposit at the dealer it might be too late.

The GT-R34 was NOT on it's own platform, the same platform had been used for numerous other JDM nissans including the Stagea.

As I've said before, numerous sources have said that Nissan has confirmed the VQ37HRTT. And the VQ is a V6, not an 8. What your thinking of is a sick joint venture fantasy between GM and Nissan/Renault that luckily was never conceived until you thought it up.

let me supply a few of the better sources than R&T for ya. Magazines are there to provide missinformation. If you actually know people and have been watching the racing serieses in Japan then you know what engines are comming and what they have... Wake up and realize that the internet is scoured for all the correct information that they don't want released and it is pulled. The only stuff that is left is a bunch of crap!!!! The VQ42 was all over the Japanese racing circuit in 01 and 02 but you can't even find a link on it any more that says anything... some say magic beans... I say lawyers.

I'm scared to ask if you even follow F1??? Hummmm a V8 configuration???? never seen that b4. Renault has the best F1 engine on the planet. Sorry to say but it is even better than Ferrari's.... Need I say any more???
And as far as it being a supercharged engine... That would never fly in Japan. It wouldn't sell at all. Superchargers are for people who don't know how to drive a turboed engine... and everyone who is in the market to buy this car either knows or is just dropping cash and won't know any better one way or the other. Think about it... when was the last time that a supercharged car was released by a japanese company??? and if you even say "THE TITAN!!!" I am going to stop what I should be doing just to track down where you live, drive to the hole you sleep in and slap some sense into you.
Just because you have posted a lot doesn't mean that you aren't a slack jawed moron... NEWBIE!!! You've only been on AF for THREE MONTHHS and you have 300+ posts??? hell you are probably one of the misinformation plants. I am just a guy that keeps my eyes open and my ears to the ground. If you would spend as much time researching as you do spouting off about stuff you don't know then you actually might be a good addition to the internet.
It is people like you who have ruined the net. - I'm Done with this one... Who's next?

NEWBIE!!! let me supply a few of the better sources than R&T for ya.

Anyway, R&T is a long running publication and even if they weren't, it dosen't make them any less reliable than the guy that posted the comment on the VQ42DETT and just because the engine was on the japanese racing circut, dosen't mean Nissan is going to use it in the next GT-R.

Ua no... the VQ are not all v-6 engines... VQ designates that one design team designed that series of block. RB20 RB25 RB26 all the same engineering team and the same basic block/block design. CA18 SR20 different teams but they went in almost the same car... Hum... Do ya get it??? An engine starts with a block... then you say how big the displacement is then you say the valvetrain type then the induction type. I was really hoping for the super raced out version VQ42VDTT but you kids still want the moped then that is what they will put in it. My info says the Vq42dett was a 36 with two more cylinders slapped on and destroked like a son of a bitch to give better rod ratio and higher RPM for the turbos... Can you say 9 grand on stock internals???? No one!!! and I mean NO ONE has seen the true abilities of the new R35. At Nuremburgring you can tell by the sound of the exhaust that it isn't being pushed engine wise and that the red line is a ways to go from where the driver is allowed to put it. They are pushing the suspension and the driver to the abolute limit smoking an S4, and not even pushing the engine hard.
The reason I dig on Road and Track is because they pander to the manufacturers and have for decades. They might as well put out articles of "Why the Prias is such a bad ass car - with a picture of the editor and chief standing on the side of the road with a homeless guy sign that says will say your car is awesome for food" The British "CAR" magazine is about the only honest magazine left. If a car sucks they say so. If it is overly marketed to teens who like shiniy stuff but know nothing about how to change their own oil then they say so. I mean for GOD SAKES!!!! Scion owners spent half a million last month on upgrades!!! Why don't you go and get some bling 22" with spinners on your lawn mower for christ sakes!!! Upgrading a Scion is like getting a fat chicks teeth fixed. My point is that no one is letting all these people with money spend it in areas that actually do a dam thing!!!
And as far as you doing Elmo or what ever the hell that is??? I don't care. This is a post on automotive-forums... I just think you don't know shit about cars.... why don't you go to www.imapussy.com and log some time there??? The people who know about cars are so fed up with tenie boppers who think they know their shit that we don't even bother any more. You go do what you want and I'll stand back here and laugh... I'm not sure if I only said it outloud n the past or if I typed it out for the rest of you...

Sorry I was on quite a rant and I mixed the 911 carrera 4 and the carrera GT2. By the way the R35 keeps up with both at the Nurburgring... well actually it spanks the 911 and keeps up with the GT2.

just because an awd car can keep up with a rwd car on one track doesnt mean it can beat it in a race on every track. and considering the car being used at the ring isnt the production car, it could get a lil help from a lighter body or something.
the gt2 is a very powerful car, the 997 will have around 520hp(good considering the turbo has only 478 in comparison) and the carrera 4 only has around 415hp.
yes i've seen the pictures of the car infront of the porsches and vettes. but relize wen the gtr comes to america, it'll b a japaneese car playing in the realm of many many loyal owners. many people like porsche and porsche only, same with the vette and the viper. the gtr is only really gonna b known by the younger(gaming generation) or a nissan person.
it hasnt been in a car mag for around 6months so people have lost interest.
then add to the mix that wen it comes out, the challenger from dodge will be coming out, and the camaro only a few months later. there will be way to many alternatives to the gtr to make it the best new exotic/sports car in 08, and like i said too many people like wat they have and wont go out and get the gtr.
o and the first yr mite b sold out already, but the first yr is also going to b the test yr, the one with all the lil problems, and not as many cars will b built, since the edsel in the 50's, companies relized if it's different, dnt try to force it out there, just advertise and hope for the best.

hum... so by your logic then the Mini shouldn't have been such a hit with everyone who wanted a small car that was nimble???
The Skyline GTR R35 will undoubtedly hand every car you referenced it's ass in sales(profit), power and all around performance.
Charger 1/8 lighter with 1/8 more power and twice the driving wheels??? are you stupid??? Skylines are going to eat them for lunch!!! By the time you get a charger to be even remotely compedative then you might as well of just spent the money on a skyline. It is like trying to be compedative with a honda against a WRX... just doesn't work.
Commaro??? copy and paste...
Other alternatives??? You either spend a lot more and get less or you spend less and wish you could get more... Either way I am glad I have a deposit in place because my stock GTR will most likely eat your modded whatever the hell you have for lunch and I don't intend to keep it stock for long... possibly a few days... just enough to get some good baseline data for the teardown and rebuild. The GT-R35 will hopefully even be able to eat the godzilla creations of the past from Sean as well because as much as the Japanese car companies have tried hard to prove the good old proverb of "there's no replacement for displacement" it really rings true when you turbo it... Hell make it a twin!
I can't wait to get thrown off a 1/4 track with a bone stock car for less than 100K!!!

well i guess either u cant read or u dnt read. i wrote challenger not charger. and the camaro is pretty big news in the automotive world, if u havent heard of it, u should get ur head out of ur ass and look it up.
power over the viper and vette, doubt. the z06 has 505hp, the corvette ss has 600, and the viper has 600, or have u not paid attention to them either.
there are a few different vette's and vipers that would get thrown off a 1/4 track for breaking the 10sec rule, tho that's not the cars fault if thrown off, it's the driver for not having a nhra lisence, or a car that cant pass saftey requirements.
as for dead even performance, the viper is a pure muscle car, not really ment to go around, justs strait, and i believe that as of right now the 05 zo6 holds 2nd or 3rd at the ring, a porsche carrera gt is first.
and i have no idea as to wat ur smoking, but the skyline has awd, the charger has that as an option(tho i dnt think it is now). and if the gtr is to b wat everyone is saying, then the hemi(highest engine in the charger) is going to have around 100hp LESS than that of the gtr.
as for if i boughht a challenger, u better belive that money i saved can go right into it and up power performance and handling.
and based on the last phrase in the 5th paragraph, u dnt know shit about the gtr, make it a twin(a twin turbo) there arent plans for a n/a one, u want n/a go buy a fricken g35. and because of that sentence, i doubt u even have this car on hold

u much more seem like a kid that's all of 19 or 20, same age as me, but u dnt relize that at this point in ur life(unless ur parents are rich) u dnt have the credit to go out and buy a car, ne car, weather it b a honda civic or a ferrari 430.
trust me i went out last yr, and went to few different saturn dealers, i really wanted a sky, above all a redline, i mean 260hp rwd, cant go wrong with that. a) the waiting list was a yr and a half, a 30000 dollar saturn isnt worth a yr and a half. b) insurance for a 19yr in a 2dr roadster with some balls, not a very good idea for wanting cheap insurance.
i went out and got a 92 dodge stealth r/t tt, 300hp awd and aws, not the greatest car by all means but it does everything i wwant it to, get me to work, get me home, picks up grls. o and it sucks my wallet dry on gas money($60 a fill up)
so if u have this car on hold, prove it, there's got to b a slip of paper that proves u are the person who ordered the car.

Well well well... I go on vacation for a month and the "specialist" drops a set of "balls"... Has your voice started to change too??? It is so cute when you little boys go through this stage of I AM KING!!! Hear me roar!!!
<<<<crickets making noises... a gentle breeze moves some leaves... a bird tweets off in the distance>>>
But your still a freaking kid who is pissed off that I have put in my time and made my money and you can't get what I can. (Envy is a beautiful thing. It makes the American economy go round... Keep it up kid. I make money off of stupid little brats like you.)
And by the way... although that Carlos Ghosn has stepped down I am pretty sure I am still on the list that "doesn't exist"... for people like you. Money and connections talk, but nothing talks louder than actions in the past. I was giving presentations at the SEMA show when you were still in middle school for Christ sakes!!!
People like you can't get a first gen car because you are a "FUCKING 18 YEAR OLD BRAT!!!" I have already had multiple businesses and racing clubs and TEAMS!!!
You should really start to respect people you know nothing about because you never know who you are talking to. Wake up and realize that maybe you should have gotten good grades in school so that you can go to college for something other than day care and please keep in mind that I won't cry one tear as you bitch that you can't pay cash for an 80k car and that you can't even get a regional manager to talk to you.
At this point I have to thank you for making my day!!! I put in my time and worked my ass off to get to where I am. And I really enjoy saying this because it is true...
I'm glad I'm not you!!!
Now I know that this may sound quite spiteful but I am honestly saying it and I hope that you understand that most of the people who read this forum feel the same thing about you that I do… because if you keep with the attitude you have right now the only thing that will get you to where I am is if your real good a sucking DICK.
Practice this kid... I'll say it really slow for ya so that you can get it...
DO YOU WANT FRIES WITH THAT SIR?
Now practice and repeat for minimum wage... because with your attitude you won't impress anyone… You will only piss them off… and they will only point and laugh at you because you just don’t get it.
I truly hope that you do eventually get it kid, because the world is too small and life is too short for you to think that because you can’t do something then no one else can.
I am tempted to go off on a rant about the fact that I have probably totaled more cars than you have ever driven but then you would probably just counter with some other witty remark that makes you feel better about your position in life but I won’t.
The bottom line is that you need to take a deep breath, look at your life and figure out what you need to do to get where you want to be instead of bitching that you aren’t.
Now back to the Skyline stuff??? Please... I suggest a separate forum is made just for you... I'll see what I can do about getting an "I can't figure out how to plan my life" forum created.
And PS... Ya see over there underneath picture of Bunta... Join Date:2002 I'm 29 and I've been drifting top end cars around the block since before you had a licence to drive your mom's minivan. I've designed stuff for companies ranging from NASA to aftermarket ferrari parts.
O' and if ya think I am going to scan and post my reciept of deposit then you must smoke either some pretty bad or pretty good stuff.

O' and if ya think I am going to scan and post my reciept of deposit then you must smoke either some pretty bad or pretty good stuff.

ok so wat, u came out of the womb in greatness and never worked for a part time shit ass suk up to the boss job. ok then mister hero, but even i doubt that, everyone has to start somewhre.
o u race, how nice, u slide then back of ur car out, then go around a turn, then come out and straiten or go the other way, g i do that when i drive in the snow, good skill to have.
as for what i've driven, never a minivan, unless u count a former bosses that i used to pick up some parts for a car. i've owned a dodge neon(still do) a PORSCHE 924, and i also own a 92 dodge stealth twin turbo. so minivan i think not.
so ur glad u can go out and buy a 80g car. congrats on that ability. when i'm 29 not 20 maybe i will to, or i'll buy a house and have a couple of kids(well the wife will have em) and overall a nice satisfying life.
no i didnt get great grades, and even if i did, that's something good. i did well in mechanical classes, just not english, math, and science. i dont go to college, and when u consider that 70% of millionaires in america never went to college, and 6% never graduated, i dont think i'm in bad company.
i dont plan on saying do u want fries with that, i've had it said to me tho.
my life plan, up my death(and including burial) move to atlanta, work for UPS, then get a job working for PANOZ(car company, if u dont know) then do a few racing skools, get a lisence, and work my ass off, much like u, to get wat i want in life, and wen it's good, i'll reward myself with something, tho it wont b a gtr, maybe a 911 turbo(i bought that 924 and ever since have loved porsche).
maybe i said there's no list as sarcasm, kinda hard to pick up in writing, that an i have no interest in buy an r35, so i havent even gone to a nissan dealer, never even steeped foot in one yet in my life, and the way it's going, i never will, no infiniti
