^yes, but it's supposed to be badged as an infiniti here.
i'm not really sure if i like it. the back looks great, side shot looks just like a 350z or G35 coupe, but i dunno if i like the front though.

Looks nice. Now the two big questions are: Does the US get it, and How much horsepower?

Yeah, I know... but it just looks like a G35 with a bodykit...
That front end is wayyy fat. How do they expect it to be uber aerodynamic with a frontal area the size of a Nimitz class aircraft carrier?
Not to say the R34 front end was uber sleek, but it at least had a bit of character... rather than a Pug like face. :(

i love it, i'm glad they kept it very close to the original concept proto. and no i wouldn't say the GTR's tail lights looks like the cobalts tailights, its more like the other way around. the GTR always had round taillights since the 70's. the tailights are just like a perfect evolution of the R34's. the line for the trunk almost mimicks the lines for the R34 but its more round.

see how similar the rears look.
too bad they won't let me take the pics from the site, but they look very similar , pay close attention to the lines on the trunk near the tailights, they are almost identical on the proto to the R34.
and the hp rating is 440hp but we all know how nissan likes to underrate their GTR's. so i'm guessing the real world hp is 500hp.
i'm really digging the rear, not feeling the front too much, but in some angles it looks perfect. and you can't judge aerodynamics but its looks.
a boxy ass E46 M3 has a Coeffecient of drag of .30 while a supra TT gets a Cd of .33 which is the same for the STi.

boxy ass m3... the R34 gtr wasn't exactly the pinnacle of smoothness either, say that again once the E90 M3 comes out... :cya:
Im also gunna go ahead and say that a 60hp understatement sounds like a bit much, especially for a car that they plan to sell in the US. There is no way that Nissan wouldn't try to compete with the Corvette Z06's power numbers given a chance.
It looks decent, but I'll have to wait and see what it actually looks like in person. Judging cars from pictures is very different from judging them in person.

If they really wanted GT-R to be it's own, it needs to be it's own.

we know its coming to the us but
can it compete with a vette (zo6) for performance and price?
because honestly if i had the loot, id go for the chevy unless the gtr was faster

The only thing that scares me about the car is probably going to be its weight. It looks massive, perhaps weighing even as much as 4000 pounds. It could compete with a Z06 is it weighs under 3000 pounds, has at least 450 hp and costs not more then $75000

regardless i'll like the car for what it is. i never was a fan of the other skylines looks, they all look boxy and plain but because i knew what it could do made me like it the most. this one actually looks better to me then the previous skylines......not bad

The only reason you say that is because the Cobalt is simply a more common car the the R34 was, even though the R34 was realeased long before the Cobalt was a concept. Plus why would a high-end sports car copy the design from a base model econobox?

The GT-R had those tail lights before the cobalt. I think it looks better than the older ones, I was never a big fan of the boxy look, but with this kinda price tag, I would take a C6 ZO6 over it. Unless I was rich, then I would buy them both.
I dont see it weighing 4000 lbs as clawhammer suggested, but neither do I see it being under 3000 unless it stole some of Marvin the Martian's technology.

^Look how angry he would be if they did. He's probably gonna bust out the Illudium Pew 36 Explosive Space for this one :naughty:

actually yes it does, the order you put the sentense matters alot.
example: you said the tailights looks like a cobalt SS's
that is completely false
its suppose to be
example: the cobalt SS's tailights looks similar to the GT-R's.
the order of which came out first matters alot. if i looked very similar to abraham lincoln, and i'm calming
"abraham lincoln looks like me"
how would you feel about that statement now in a different context. the order really matters now huh?
now if you said like what you just said in that sentense
"the point is they look the same"
see that is more acceptable because yes they do look the same, but just remember where the cobalt SS got the design from. not visa versa. when the SS first came out i always thought they looked like baby skylines from behind. not the other way around.
not saying hte SS is a bad looking car, i love it mostly becusae it reminds me of a skyline.

Seeing those pics next to eachother does really point out that the Cobalt's lights do look like the skyline's. But I don't think GM got the Idea to do the 4 round lights from the Skyline. The Idea came more from my old Camaro. But the way they went with the design looks a lot like the Skylines more than my Camaro. Still looks sharp on all the cars either way. Much better than some boxy sqaure lenses that take up the entire back portion of the vehicle. I hate seeing all that crap plastic.
As for this new concept...I think it's a great looking car. Lot of style and class, but nothing really over the top.
