hello people. im new to this forum thing so bare with me. I bought this sweet VR4 last year. 6 months later I started haveing problems with it. one of the problems is my car keeps blowing the ignition fuse. this started happening last week. the fuse located in the engine bay. the first time it died just idling. a shop fixed it no problem the next day. the second time i was flooring it and the power shut off ( ouch, not good for the turbos). went to the dealership and they said it's the alternator right off the bat. I didn't even tell them what kind of car it was. I can still turn on the head lights and so on so I still have power. other people think it's the ignition coil. my supervisor told me to go here. with this many forums, I know there has to be some people out there that can hook me up with some knowledge. please help, any ideas at all would be very much appreciate.

I'll check this forum on the daily untill it's fixed or there's no more postings. thanks.

There has to be a short somewhere. I had an issue with my ignition fuse popping last year. It turned out to be some wires getting pinched in the clutch pedal assembly.

thanks for your idea Stealthee. whatever ideas people have I'll check it. I'll look under the dash console and by the clutch and under the clutch. hopefully it's that easy.

i agree with stealthee...shorted somewhere. Got a multimeter or know someone who does? will make finding it easier.

I agree with the short somewhere (obviously...that's the only reason fuses blow)...did you have any work done on it before this started happening.

actually yes. I just got my clutch installed. it started about happening two weeks after though. the second time it happend, it did it about three days later. it's going to suck when I have to look where the ground might be. my car is stuck in another town right now so I cant really do anything to it. im trying to get alot of ideas so i bring it back home this weekend.

the second time it happend, my friends and I were pushing my car to my grandma's, this guy sitting on his lawn said "should have bought a ford". you believe that. it made me want to get in, start my baby and say "alright, get in your POS and lets go". but for obvious reasons, I couldn't do that.

I checked under the dash and under the hood for any wires hanging and/or disconnected. everything looked good. I tried putting the fuse in and I heard the doors unlock. then the AC fan came on. im kinda lost but I think im getting close for what it could be. it's running right now but it shut off for like 2 seconds then came back on. any other ideas would be great. thanks.
