What does CRX mean?

I never really thought about it, but the other day someone asked me what CRX stood for, and I had no clue. I hope this doesn't sound stupid, but what does CRX stand for?

it doesnt mean anything, its just a moniker like any other car. the civic rennasanice(sp?) is the biggest myth running around, so most people use that.

it stands for CRX. LMAO! do they ever give a reason for stick any 2-3 letters together on any car?

:confused: Well, "NSX" named around the same time stands for New Sports car eXperiment. I always assumed "CRX" had a similar meaning, though I've suspected that the rest of Honda/Acura's alphanumeric monikers have just been gibberish.

I heard it was Civic Renaissance Model-X.

I know the cr-v stands for comfortable runabout vehicle maybe the crx stands for comfortable raceabout X-rated(motherfucker?)

It does indeed stand for Civc Renaissance Model-X........it was an introduction after the Civic Hatchbacks in 84. If only Honda would stop screwing around and revive the CRX the world would be a much better place

But the film was shot in Australia, so I guess they were Australian clones :D

i believe he's right. i read some page that had the original adds for the rex and it had that in big letters behind the car.

OH frick, I had the original article from car and driver about the 1988 crx/civics and I threw it away. (at the time i didn't own my 4G) I bet that would of said something. :mad:
