Engine swap problem

Got a problem with my engine swpping situation. I have a 93 Vtech prelude. Hydro locked the engine a while agon and threw some rods. Got the money for a new engine finally. The problem now is the engine I bought is an h22a from a 96 model. My mechanic said basically the engines are different but it could work if he took the intake and exhaust manifolds of my old engine and put them on the 96 engine. But he highly suggests not doing it cause he can't guarantee whether or not it will cause any problems down the line.
He said the place i bought the engine from has a bad reputation of suggesting conversions like this. He says from his experiences with the customers who did do things like this things always ended up bad. The engine itself has about 80,000 miles on it. I cloud take it back and get a 93 engine the problem is even though it is cheaper It has an extra 100,000 miles 184,895 miles to be exact at $900.00 I paid $1,391.00 for the 96 engine. Both are V-tech.
Basically i was wondering Should I take the chance of doing that Manifold conversion with the newer engine which has 80,000 miles the labor is an extra $70 bucks.
Or should I Take that one back and get the cheaper engine at $900.00 184,895 miles and a broken valve cover.

Did some more research on this site about putting a 96 h22a engine into my 93 Prelude but could find nothing exact just that the 96 setup is completely different Does any have any info as far as how it is done and if there are any problems to consider. when trying to do this conversion.

Im not too familiar with the difference between the two engines, but if the engine looks the same and has all the same type sensors in the same locations, there should be no reason why it wouldn't work to put the older intake and exaust on the engine. I believe that the only real difference is the intake. I could be wrong, but the only real difference should be the obd2 stuff on that engine. which should be much different.
