Somebody help. I have a 1982 Malibu Classic. When I got the car a year ago, the wipers didnt work. The switch on the column cost too much, so I got a new motor and hooked up a hot wire and a toggle switch to it. Well, it works now, but the wipers only travel up the windshield about a quarter of the way up, Whats going on?!!?? :banghead:

Let the wipers travel up as far as they can (with the key on). Once they get to the height, turn the key off. Then replace the wiper arms as if they were at the top of the turn normally. Turn the key on and see if the travel the full distance., If not just undo what you did. If they work right, you owe me a Hot Patrami sandwhich from either Torpedo Base in Paterson New Jersey or from The Hat in Montclair, California.

OK, that didnt work. The problem is the amount of travel that the wiper motor creates, its not enough. I have checked around and this is one of two types of wiper motors available. One has intermittant(delay) and one doesnt. Could this be a factor? The switch on my steering column isnt any help. My entire column is from a buick and I have no idea what year it is. Yeah people, a real frankencar! Thanx for the idea though, cause I'm all out.
