Is my G handicapped?

I'm beginning to think that my G is handicapped.

It has always done this. My previous G did the same thing. As far as I can tell it has never effected my performance in any way. But it is annoying.

For some reason when I turn my car on.. some days it's worse than others. The engine idles oddly. It will go from 200rpm (the verge of stalling) to 1500rpm. For about 15-30 seconds it will fluctuate (sp) between those two and eventually even off at about 800rpms.

Is there any way I can stop it from bouncing around when I turn on the car like that? When I'm sitting at a stoplight it just stays at 800rpms. Never moves unless I hit the gas.

My friend told me I need to replace my air filter.. but he also drives a broken ass Honda... so I dunno.

Sweet thanks man.

Yeah, once in a blue moon mine will idle so low that it stalls. But that only tends to happen on a REALLY humid day and after rainfall.

Thanks

Might want to check the MAF ground and reground it if it is not within tolerance. Read up on it here:

http://www.se-r.net/engine/maf_ground.html

And check to make sure your EGR-BPT valves are not clogged or bad. To do a quick check on the stalling when stopping, go by some rubber nipples from local auto parts store, remove the hose from the BPT to EGR valve and nipple both ends off. Take for a drive, if it cures the stalling, your tubing is probably clogged. Read on it here:

http://www.se-r.net/car_info/problems/index.html#Surge%20and%20hesitation

That should be great starting points for you.

Good luck!
