95 brake issue

GASE 95

with all the expensive gas prices im doing everything i can to conserve. Including putting my car in neutral on hills and shutting my car off while going down this one BIG 2 mile long hill by my house. It kills the power steering but its a straight shot anyways. So as i neared the bottom of the hill i tapped my brakes cuz i was pushing 80MPH then started the car again while still on the brakes and now the brakes feel to be the tiniest bit tighter than before. Should i be concerned about that? They still work fine but any change in the way my brakes work is worth asking questions in my opinion.

Just want to remind everyone how dangerous it is shutting your car off going down a hill, you lose your power steering, power brakes, and if i was the property owner at the end of the street I would be pretty ticked when you come thru my front door because the car didn't start. A couple dollars in gas is well worth not wrecking your car for, replacement parts will be far more expensive, or your insurance rates going up, must be a pretty good hill if your doing 80 at the bottom, ever think what would happen if someones kid stepped out in front of you? Could you get it started and stopped in time? Is that worth a couple dollars in gas? Oh yeah, and im sure it takes more gas to start it at the bottom of the hill then you saved by coasting down. If your driving your an adult now, act like one, and if you don't be ready to take responsibility when something happens. How would you start the conversation explaining why you couldn't stop your time when little Suzzie walked out to get her ball out of the street?

As far as the brakes, they are probably ok, the calipers probably just haven't released completely yet.

ok im sorry if u think im irresponsible for doing that but money is the biggest issue in my life right now. If i can save 2 cents any way possible i was willing to try it. I wasnt in a residential area in fact there are ZERO houses, ZErO driveways, and ZERO stopsigns in that area. I just figured since i felt a slight change in my brakes (which are normal today) it would be even more irresponsible of me to just ignore it and not ask questions.

thanks for ur concern and i see ur point tho i felt no danger in doing that in this particular area

you waste more gas restarting the car than it would use in 2 miles of downhill coast driving. so not only are you endangering yourself, you're using more gas.
