95 civic Water Pump? Overheating

Hey everyone, I have already tried to search for this resolution.

I have taken the car to "goodyear"...I know, but I had to see what was wrong. Goodyear advised that the water pump was bad, the car runs great, just overheats after about 15 miles of driving. Sometimes less, depending on the speed you are driving.

I just bought this car for $500.....hoping that fixing the water pump would solve everything. Unfortunately, I have been having a hell of a time trying to change out the water pump....does anyone have a good guide to changing it out?

Thanks everyone!

if u know how to chang the timing belt, then u can do the water pump. but if u can't do the timing belt DON'T try to do the water pump u'rself cuz u have to take off the timing belt to do the water pump. also, it could be u'r thermostat, not the water pump. goodyear is gonna say water pump because that is a $400+ job for them, but the thermostat is about a $60 job if even. try the thermostat and then see where it is after that. the other thing does it over heat after coming to a stop? while moving? make a grinding noise under the timing belt cover? ya gotta be more specific if u want to get a better answer.

How do I check to see if the thermostat is working or not?

It overheats when sitting still, when driving, when stopping....just plain overheats....

No griding noise that I can hear....
