Has anyone seen this video or have a copy of it?

Are you talking about the "Martin Brundle's Supercars" DVD?

That's the only video where I can recall the two cars being compared head-to-head.

If so, it's an enjoyable vid - definitely worth the purchase.

Edit: Here's a shot of the cover, clickable to a website where you can purchase the DVD.

I am guessing here, but the only thing that makes sense is court = caught? If so, I have never seen or even heard of such a tape.

He must be talking about this little event:

I've never seen the video, but I surely would like to. According to the owner of the two cars - and I may be paraphrasing slightly - the F1 smoked the Enzo. :naughty:

If that's at the track event we know about...neither of the cars were driven anywhere near their limits.

Yeah thats the footage i was talking about. Is there any video footage of this drag race? :)

Yes, there is obviously footage as that horrible image can be nothing more than a screenshot taken from such a video. Again though - unfortunately I don't believe this video has made it into the public domain. If it has, I've never seen it. and I would find that rather surprising.

No - the F1 that's for sale is #028. The car in that photo above with the Enzo is Dan Kennedy's #038.

#038 is actually painted "Kandy Orange"

Chassis #004 was listed as being painted the same "Grand Prix Red" as #028, but I have no confirmed photos of it.

Chassis #021 is listed as "Blood Red Solid", which would be similar in color to Nick Mason's GTR #10R, but again no confirmed photos of that one either.

Cliff said that he liked the Enzo more than the F1 due to the newer brake technology. which makes me wonder if anyeone has sprung the cash for McLaren to make/install carbon brakes for an F1

Hope I'm not speaking out of turn being relatively new here but Mclaren tested carbon brakes for the F1 and were never happy with them in cool damp conditions.

No such thing as speaking out of turn in here - if something is old news, most of us will find a way to tell you without making you feel dumb about it. (I hope...)

We are aware of Gordon's desire to include carbon brakes on the F1 and the fact that they were tested and found to be inadequate, however that was based on the technology available in ~1991-1993.

I think the interest in Archangel's question is whether someone has paid to adapt today's carbon-ceramic brake technology to their F1. The F1's traditional steel brakes are one of the few areas of the car that regularly receive complaints about not living up to the rest of the package or not meeting the capabilities of the current crop of supercars.

I'm certain if McLaren could have found a way to make them work properly, Gordon would have ensured they were on the car. Afterall, the Brabham BT46 he developed in the late 1970s was the first Formula One car to incorporate them. Unlike a paddle shifted transmission for instance, a proper set of today's carbon brakes offer nothing but benefits in function, longevity and unsprung weight savings.

Given the Carbon brakes of the SLR, I'm sure McLaren could develop them for any interested owner ... but as for the price ....
