Hey, does anyone use monroe struts in his (or her) escort? They're pretty cheap, but is it OBVIOUS when you drive? I mean is there any difference from stock? Lemme know.

At 150k i just put monroe struts, mounts and new springs all the way around. It's a big improvement from what I had because it was all worn out, but is it the same as it was when new? I doubt it, but who remembers what it rode like 12 years ago. I'd say they're fine for oem stuff. If you're looking for an improvement I'd say these aren't for you, if you want it to ride ok without much expense these are the ones. However, it still cost me $600 to do the whole thing.

I, too have put on Monroes. They offer a good ride with a low price @ $44 per strut. There are many out there for more money, but if you want a comfortable ride get the cheapies. The high dollar one's generally are a lot stiffer for performance reasons.
