because in the alldata.com the free demo car is 2003 Pontiac Bonneville V6-3.8L VIN K

May be some differences in the electronics, also could be 4t65e in one and/or 4t60e in the other.

Like Max said there will be differences between your tranny and the '03 Bonneville. Even the wiring diagrams will be different. Check the SPID label located on the back of the trunk lid or spare tire cover for the tranny RPO option number. Somewheres on the second line or so you should see M13, M15, etc ??? The '02-'03 Bonny Vin K has RPO MN3. A GTP Vin 1 has RPO MN7.
Depending on when your GT was manufactured in '97 it could be a 4T60E or 4T65E.
