Nice... but why does the ZOH just leave him the first race, then the second race the Camaro just whoops?
Odd... Anybody know what bolt ons that Camaro has? Pretty quick Fbody.

So what were the parameters?
Who sprayed when, or at all? What "bolt-ons" did the SS have?
Looks to me like the 1st one is with no spray on both, and the 2nd one, the SS sprayed, and the Zee-oh still didn't.
Lastly, how many fucking miles did the Z owner put on his Vette, before he tromped on it like that? I hope at least 500...

The SS Camaro is cam'd with a 200 shot. Big cam as well. All the bolt-ons.
Almost looked like the Z06 didn't spray the second run.

BREAKING NEWS!
On another board, I found out that in the 2nd run, the Z06 FRIED ITS PISTONS. :(
I guess that's what you get for trying to push a 100 shot into a high-compression motor that CAN'T BE TUNED FOR N20 CURRENTLY.
Also, the SS has about 600+ WHP on spray, and also has some weight reduction, though not much (Z06 was still lighter).

That means nothing if you dont make the proper adjustments. This is another one of those case in points where, you can't just throw shit on your car and call it a day, people dont realize that as matt said, when you start adding power you need to start tuning as well. Making the proper timing adjustments and so on...

Sweet vid. I guess that 200 shot must've saved the guy, cause i'd think that a Z06 with those mods would annhilate him, as it should be kicking out a good 80 whp more then him, eventhough the guy has a cam, plus whatever the shot the guy in the vette was using.

I like this line:
"There's no point to whipping a Corvette around a corner in your subdivision because, really, nothing whips. It just goes around the corner. That's the drawback of any ultra-high-performance car, though. It's hard to push the envelope when the envelope's just so darned big."

Timing and fuel delivery is the key. 11:1 compression is not terribly high, so that doesn't really matter, but there's no doubt the car has too much timing (has to be advanced a little, I mean come on, 505+ hp from a small block with a mild cam and flat top pistons??).
Matty said it best: the guy is/was a dumbass, period.
As for the internals. they're plenty strong in the LS7. 4340 crank and 4340 H-beam rods. That's about as good as you're going to get. I know of race cars that get spun up to 8 grand with that combination. About the only way you're going to get any better is to go with alluminum rods, and that's not really better as far as strength, but it will let ya turn more RPMs.

The LS7 has forged titanium rods though... along with titanium intake valves and sodium filled exhaust valves.
Still has a forged crank though, along with cast aluminum pistons.

lol my Bad I don’t even know how I did that. While I'm here though all I can say about the ZO6 is wow. Now I don’t really "hate" Corvettes, will just say I don’t like them... or their owners. Although I'm a German car lover so its to be expected. However once I saw its Nurburgring lap times I couldn’t help but say damn... Chevy beat us on our own turf. Hats off to the ZO6 C6 and C6 period. :worshippy
All the German car companies are pissing me off lately at least from a performance sport compact car aspect. They need to step up their game like the rest of the WORLD is doing and stop thinking of more places to put leather and TV's. The Porsche Cayman is the only thing I'm excited about . Got to stay loyal to them though…. And the Cowboys :icon16:

Heard that man. That's awesome. Have ya got her done yet?? If so, give me the run down on everything.
I guess I MIGHT have 475-500 hp at the crank. That'll probably go up to 550 or so after this winter when it gets about 14:1 compression. Thats all guestimating though. Could be a lot less or maybe a little more.
Now next Spring (maybe by next Spring) my 406 will be a real powerhouse. I'll fix it back with pretty much the same set-up as I plan on using for my 355 this winter. I'd say a 406 with close around 13:1 compression would make 600 hp.

This weekend I am hoping to have an extra hand in the garage and have the motor assembled and ready to get installed.
If so...it should only be just over a week before I turn it over for the first time. Next Sunday I hope.
The motor should be right around 11:1 compression. Give or take a little. All the calculators I am using give me slightly different numbers. Anywhere between 10.8 to 11.2.
Should be right around 500 RWHP with the heads I got. Not what I wanted, but a pretty decent set none the less. For the price, I couldn't pass them up.
Patriot Stage III LS6 style heads. They flow at 314cfm at .600 lift. 2.08 intake/1.60 exhaust.
Nice 1 7/8" primary longtube headers to help out a bit. Stainless, and are they pretty....
I will let everyone know when I finally get her started and enough tune to stay running. Video to follow. Idle should be around 1050 RPM's. I am hoping a little less...but with the cam going in, who knows.
Pretty....

Dag gone man, 314 cfms at only .600 lift! That's pretty awesome man. Shit for the old type motors (like mine) you have to spend BIG BUCKS to get that much flow at only .600 lift.
For example, local shop around here has a set of GM Bowtie alluminum heads (probably as good as you can get for a 1987-earlier SBC) that are 18* instead of the traditional 23*. They accept 2.15 intake valves!! Anyways, they flow 340 with a .700 lift cam I think. I wished I had the money to get them right now. They're $3500 assembled.
I probably would get them if I didnt have two shortblocks to overhaul by next year and one set of heads to get freshened, lol.
But shoot man, you didn't have to give up much with those heads, lol. I think mine flow about that but I got a .650 something cam.
