Power steering 95 F150

Is there a quick way to adjust the power steering box on a 1994 2WD F150 with the I6? I'm referring to the adjustment screw with locknut on the top of the power steering box. My son's truck has about two inches of steering wheel movement. We have traced it down to the steering box - the steering wheel shaft moves, but not the output shaft. The steering wheel can move about 2 inches before the box moves the output shaft. Everything else on the steering system is tight.

Thank you.

There is an adjustment, but unless you have done it before, it is hard to explain how to do it. If you are a hair too tight, it makes the steering want to lock up, if it is a hair too loose, it makes the steering even looser. If you want to attempt it, hold the center stud, loosen the locknut(slightly) and turn adjusting screw counterclockwise in small increments. tighten lock nut after each minor adjustment and drive to see if it is better or worse.
Be extremely careful on the adjustments and even more careful on the drives between adjustments. Good luck. I have 12 techs working for me and only 2 of them can make the adjustments without destroying the worm gear in the box.
