The New Beetle Kicks A$$

My opinion about the new Beetle is that it kicks a$$ just like Scotland! The Beetle is small, but cool. It kinda looks like the old Beetle. The only difference is that the new Beetle has a dome design, and the inside looks a little diferent.

The new beetle sucks my asshole, IMO. Not to be vulgar, but it's a big turd in appearance. And think about it....it's the same shape as the cross section of the wing of a 747. There's gotta be some pretty decent lift going on at high speeds.
You like the interior? you like the cute little flower holder next to the steering wheel? Does it make you feel manly?:apuke:

VW New Beetles are some of the worst, most unreliable cars made on the road today.

Says who? Aren't they on the Golf platform? I thought they were holding up fairly well in the world...

Yes, actually they´re pretty reliable (it´s a fact), they share the platform of the Golf AND that´s exactly the same for the Audi A3 not in USA still, do you really think Audi would risk their cars? definetly not. About been cute or nice, you just love it or hate it, I love it of course. And they´re not small, at least in the outside they look kind of big.

i dont HATE the beetle..but i def. wouldnt be caught driving one. My girlfriend wants a navy blue one. And personally i would go buy it for her..but i would never drive it . The styling is ok...but i think its a chick car...no offense to neone. But i mean if your beetle can run 11's and 12's ..good luck to you

I have to say i reallly like the new beetle, i also love corvettes, but if i had the money i'd skip the vette and get the hpa stage 3 conversion beetle. There's nothing like 4-motion awd, 6 speed manual tranny, and 509bhp to make a corvette blush.

and there is nothing like being called an idiot for wanting a beetle over a vette. And also being called a chick for driving one. just IMO
plus you can get 500 hp outta a vette easy.. buy a ZO6 and put new/better exhausts on it ...intake..induction..supercharger...easy 500+ hp

1st of all: Why did you have to dig up a Beetle thread
2nd: Toyota = Lexus, and Lexus= better than Volkswagen, thus Toyota = better than Volkswagen.
I have no clue what the basis for that comparison is, but there is my answer. :D

My 2000 Turbocharged Beetle was just released from the repair shop with a $3400.
bill. Volkswagen had no idea what was wrong--just changed this part than that part.
2nd most unreliable vehicle that I have owned.
Don't waste your money on a"cute" piece of junk!!!!!

i'm a bit lost here, we're going to argue that b/c your car is a lemon, the beetle sucks?
what about the e46 m3s that have been blowing motors?
does that make them all unreliable...
nope...
and vw is still better than toyota...
and silverlotus...
he said he'd rather have the modded awd 6 spd beetle w/500hp from HPA, not just some beetle off the showroom...

I opted for the 2.0 instead of the unreliable 1.8turbo and I haven't had any major problems with my 2001 New Beetle..
My only issues? A burnt out front bulb (replaced free under warranty)
BUT I only have 10,700 miles on it right now...
BUT take note that my car sits outside instead of a garage and ALWAYS starts regardless of temp! For Example, today it was only 7 degrees Farenheit outside and it started right away...
YES, Japanese auto makers are known for better quality.. I have a Japanese car too BUT I also have to say it is BLAH in personality compared to my New Beetle....
Get what you want.... if you feel the VW is too much of a headache but don't be surprised when the Japanese car feels too utilitarian and doesn't evoke the same emotion or 'fun to drive' feeling!

Well guys and gals on the forum, thought i'd better get my bit in here.
I sell VeeDubs, here in the UK, and they sell reasonably well. Ok they might not have that same " thing " as the old air cooled bugs but nevertheless they are pretty hip round here.
We have just got the new Cabriolet ( in the showroom as we speak ), but can't sell it as we can't get another one till December ( WTF ??? )
The 1.6 sells best - mainly cos tha 2.0, 1.8t and V5 versions drink fuel like a thirsty Irish navvy.
So, to recap - We pretty much rate the bug in Manchester and have some fine examples of modified customers cars on foto ( will post when I can get them uploaded for you all to see )
Well gonna go as it's the start of the weekend and I have some Bud's chillin in the fridge.

Hi Guys,
Anybody know the trick to changing the headlights on the new bug? I did it once on my daughter's ....boy was that a bad experience...eventually I had to get my neighbour to come over and turn the locking ring while I pushed the headlamps assembly into place....This is progress????
Thanks in advance for any insights.

Look I built a 2000 GLS turbo car for my wife and drove it just to test it and see if there were any problems and I love it. It handles like its on rails, it's damn fast for a 4 cyl and it would whoop my 300 hp caddilac STS in 0-60, ride and it's got more options than the caddi. I also own a 450 hp 71 Camaro, an 85 Monte SS Super Street Stock that runs sideways on dirt @ 90+ mph. How many chicks do ya know that do that!

It always amazes me how people jump to conclusions and post things about a car that they obviously aren't familiar with. If you are gonna slam the car- back it up with facts. Undoubtedly these people dont have any and dont know where to begin to get them. :loser:
