Won't start

Hi, I did search the board for this but couldn't find anything that sounded exactly the same as my problem. Anyway my dad tried starting his car (2002 Mustang V6) and it just wouldn't start. It's charge is strong and it sounds like it's about to start but it just won't. It's not just clicking like when you have a dead battery either. I'm guessing it has something to do with the ignition but not really sure on what is exactly wrong. Thanks to those who have any suggestions on what's wrong.
