tranny mount

hi,

l have transmission mount problem.. whenever l accelerte, under my traansmission l hear and feel a huge noise. if l keep driving like that, what would happen? is that an emergency stuation or not? if it is not emergency, l will move to NYC next month, that time, my friend is gonna fix it, if it is emergency and dangerous, l will get it fixed here.

its not terrible, just take it easy when accelerating. the only thing that could be damaged is your universal. worst case.

Which tranny??

dude its prolly your mount and if i were u ild take it to a local shop and just have it replaced i got myn done for 30 bucks and really it shouldn't cost that much

well, l do not know which tranny. they said that it might be trnny mount. l do not know..

It is in your Trans or in your suspension????
Keep in mind that a bad Bushing in Rear Control Arm would get you a clung in hard acceleration,
To check your Trans mount(there is only one there)
Get under the Car saftly at the Tail housing and push the Tail housing/york up and down to see if there is any movement and/or cracked, in the rubber part of the mount, also see if any oil/fluid in the mount, that what kill it,
If the mount is good, then look into your Rear Control Arm Bushings one of my when bad at 8,000 miles

I had a similar problem on my '89. I haven't a clue what year, drivetrain you've got, though. My problem turned out to be the mount at the tranny, but it's the mount that holds the front end the (torsion bar??) to the tranny. The other end of the torsion bar is attached (welded) to the rear axle housing. As I understand, it serves the purpose of "traction bars" that people used to put on their cars - prevents wheel hop in a burn-out.

As I recall, this mount is a very simple R&R. Take a look at it and it should be obvious.
