Allright. i got a 1991 plymouth lase rs turbo 5 speed. i bought it with a rebuilt motor about 50000 kms ago, new alternator, with all recipts, and the day i bought it the timming belt blew. thanks god all the valves where closed whitch saved its life. anyways, i got it back fomr the mechanic shop and every now and then it just randomly stalls out. Like ex.. im making a turn, clutch to the floor , lookin for other traffic then it just stalls.. sitting at a red light. stalls. etc. bassically when im in neutral or on the clutch. it only happens if i drive the car for over like 20 minutes and only does it liek 4-5 times in a row then it stops. When it stalls it will start rigthback up again. Car runs well. and boost well othoe i dont have an aftermarket boost gauge yet installed. The only mods i have done ti it are. k&n air filter, wit no restrictive airbox, and i cut the muffler and res out. any suggestions would help. Thanks Derek.

Did you check the usual stuff like plugs, wires, and plug gaps?

You said it only does it when it's in neutral or when the clutch is in. If it were something with the plugs and wires I would think it would be noticable throughout the entire RPM range. Maybe the idle needs adjusted? If its not that, it could also be a bent valve since you said the timing belt did break. My friend bent a valve and it would run good when it was actually moving, but once he would push the clutch in or be in neutral it would stall on him. Of course, that would be your worse case scenerio, but still possible.

I have the same problem. I thought I fixed it because my PCV valve line was disconnected somewhat and I put a new line on. It fixed it for a few weeks but now its back. I went through a drive through and stalled about 6 times. Everytime I clutched in it stalled. I am about ready to replace my PCV valve then my plugs. Idle is fine too.

If you have a multimeter then you should check your ISC (IAC) motor and sensor cable. It happened to me and they're notorious for going bad in Mitsubishi motors...not sure about yours but could be the problem.
