Say you had $300 to spend on your B16a2. You already had intake, exhaust, header, MSD box, and gooood wires.

What would you do?

Underdrive pulley? Cam gears? You tell me.

Maybe I should just ebay a carbonfiber hood?

ok well if you stuff in a CTR intake cam you'll looking at around 5 or so WHP also if your willing to do spring and retainers you can wind your motor out higher and make power up there too.

you really dont need anything more then the camshaft itself but doing the exhaust one is nice and springs retainers reflashing and tuning is just another benifit. CTRs cams are fucking mean for a stock part. About as mean as you want to do if you plan on F/I. a very safe cam still being a stock part.

I have had CTRs on my last motor and my current and love them. really makes the X over sound better too.

I do plan on forced induction. Despite my unnatural fascination with the Bov and even moreso the reurn valve noise. I will probably go supercharger for my motor.

How much would this cam run me, I have never done a cam before. So it should be kinda fun to learn.

around 200-300 for just the intake

as your budget listed the full set expect 500-600 for.

intake cam makes a much bigger differnce hence me recomending it.

I'm sure for dirt cheap you can also snag a GSR exhaust if you don't wanta shell out for the other CTR cam it'll do a little bit and heck why not if all apart.

I did a little research on it. Type R motor. What motor did/does the Type R Civic have?

And The Integra B18 exhaust cam will work in my car? Any special mounting?

its the CTR b16b motor *you can use ITR b18c5 or b18c spec R* for little less a gain but still nice.

if you are using the gsr exhaust one make sure its vtec b18 you get it from.

wow, you're in the EXACT same position as i am, even planning on sc too. lol. get coilovers. jackson racing sc? anyway, im gonna get a lighter flywheel and probably a centerforce 60% increase clutch. new wheels might be worth a look into as well. 16" Rota grids for me next summer.

drop the car it will help you launch better. I would get a VTEC controller for 300 APEXi thats like 5-10whp and control over you rvtec engagement

if you are going to get a VTEC controller, 1.) you might as well just get a hondata because it has fuel management and ignition, and other options, and 2.) it doesn't add any whp, it just lets you decide when VTEC engages, and it is set where it is for a reason. you wont gain anything by changing where it kicks in unless you are running forced induction or a crazy modified n/a car.

umm the actual controller doesn't add hp but if it makes your vtec engage early then it supposed to be the off coarse thats added hp. NE wayz i agree go all out and get a hondata but thats like what 1200 hes only got 300 I noticed a big difference with the contorller on my old Accord F22 and if you have a b16 you'll see the diff too

changing vtec engagement points can only be accurately done on a dyno with some datalogged info. the purpose of a vtec controller is to fine tune the fuel curve. changing your vtec engagement point without changing the fuel curve is pointless. if your going to spend money on anything, spend and save for a decent engine management system.

so you felt a difference with you vtec engaement point change?...................well, does your fuel and ignition maps agree? kinda like trying to shoot an aircraft 10,000 ft in the air with an M4 and saying........................"wow" i hit it, when actually dont even know.

my car club did all that tuning they have the programs set up in there computer just a couple of runs and they can have the settings down just right. So how much do they cost??
