Need help with ABS light on 95 Blazer

Hoping someone can help. I put a new battery in my Blazer (95 LS) and soon as I started to drive the antilock brake light came on. Light was not on before I changed the battery. While I was working on the battery I also removed the computer (ECM?) to clean out leaves & junk underneath it. Anyone know of a way to reset the light? Thanks for any help.

maybe with a scan tool.

I would remove the negative battery terminal and remove and reattach all the computer connections again.

I hope the battery was still disconnected while you were removing the ECM the first time right?

Trace your ABS wires as well and make sure they aren't damaged or the plug was pulled when you pulled your ecm harness.

Interesting response. Here's a few more questions, because I neven had a problem with mine, just wondering:

1) will the ABS light come on if you disconnect the ABS?. (not a damaged wire, just unplugging the unit)

2) Isn't the ABS self supporting and not tied to the EEM\ECM|PCM?.

1: Yes

2: In the 94 and below it was a manual unit with only the output going to the BCM ... In 95 to current it's tied to both the BCM and the ECM

If disconnecting the negative battery post does not help the ABS light to go off, you will more than likely have to have the light turned off with a scan tool. Might as well have the codes scaned while you have the scan tool connected.

but also reconnecting the computer connections would be a good thing to do.

Check the dealership for recalls. I know there was a recall done on my 95 blazer. The recall is TSB 99046 Dec 99.
