car wont start HELP

hi can anyone please help me my golf wont start not even turn over battery is ok
could it be the immobiliser if so how can i be sure is there a way to by pass it or do i have to go to my vw dealer for that

If the car starts and runs for 1second then dies than its problably the immobilizer. If the little light on the dash cluster that looks like a car with a key going through it (yellow) flashes than its the immobilizer.
