Buick has elimenated the cars that have made loyal buick buyers for the last several decades such as the Century, Lesabre, & Park Avenue.....what do you think about this?
Alot of seniors would buy these cars and nothing other . what do you think that thier next cars will be?

I know that i am going to take good care of my Lesabre and keep it as long as i can. I hope that it will not get hard to find parts for this car as this model has been eliminated from the Buick lineup..... I have to go now .....(crying) booohooo hooooo

I would not worry about the availability of parts for your car. Many were made and parts should be available for years to come. Also, the Lucerne, the replacement for the LeSabre, still uses the same structure and powertrain as your LeSabre, 3800 engine, 4 speed auto, same platform, etc.

At the same time the Lucerne doesnt have bench seats and a Horizontal dashboard. nor does it have the Dynaride suspension............now buick makes cars that look just like every other car on the road . just a different name and Grill ornament......boohooo.
I will hang onto my Lesabre as long as i can even if it means replacing the motor & tranny.

The Lucerne does have bench seats. Only the high-end CXS gets the buckets.
I admit I've come to like the split bench-bucket set-up in my car. The seats are so plush, and when in bench configuration it's like a couch. I wish more cars at least came with the option of a bench seat.

Theres nothing like driving a sofa is there?. who needs to do 50 mph around corners anyway?

Buick replaced the Regal with the the LaCross...The top of the line has 3.1or 3.6<--- not sure...No more supercharger...Salesman told me LaCross has variable timing which helps w/ HP...i dont think it compares to the Regal GS

Also alot of older companys just change the name of their new line-up......Thing is ....certain names appeal to certain people....A name like Century may only appeal to a person who is nearly a century old....Certain cars will hold their names forever, like Mustang, Corvette etc... There is too much nostalgia and history for these cars to get rid of the name. Oldsmobile closed because of its name alone....The name is not apealing for todays generation... Names like Scion, Lexus, Infinity, sound more prestigous

There is another saying..."What was once old is new again." Look at how many nameplates have been ressurected in the last 15 years or so, the Impala (and SS version), Monte Carlo, Roadmaster,Mercury Marauder,GTO, Malibu, Dodge Magnum, the Chrysler 300 series, and the list goes on and on. Although some of these newer versions can't hold a candle to their predecessors, automakers know the value and selling power of these names. And when their sales start slipping because no one is buying these newer named vehicles, you can be assured there will be more ressurections of older nameplates that have had a successful sales history. I wouldn't be surprised if some of these names like the Century, LeSabre, Regal, etc show up again on a car sometime in the future.
