When I used the ICQ client program, I downloaded a crack theat would kill the banners etc - easy to use etc. It's been around for quite a long time now, integrated in the ICQ client.
Now I use Trillian, which is a 3rd party AIM/ICQ/MSN/Y/mIRC client all roled into one program. Doesn't hog resources like ICQ, is less likely to make your system vulnerable like AIM etc. Can be skinned (I have mine in WinXP skins to match the OS).

I can prolly dig the crack out for ICQ, but ICQ is such a buggy POS that hogs memory, I can't go back to it ;)

No, I like to tinker with things, be it cars, computers, student's minds or even TVs (the latter resulted in my being blown across a room when I found out you don't put a ground wire into a live socket - aged 10 :p ).
I approach computers the same way I approach cars - I experiment with them until it suits me, rather than accept the simple approach ;)
Still, I guess if that makes me a nerd then that's cool :)

There aint nothing wrong with being a NERD!
some of us even mangage to fit into society quite well. :smoker2:
Iv started useing Trillion. Its not as customisable as ICQ, or as user friendly as AIM, but it is a shit load easier than running both ICQ and AIM at the same time!!
If your only useing one messanger then its not really worth it I guess, but if your into useing more than one messanger (it surrports MIRC MSN and Yahoo as well) then you really can't live with out it.

Ridden in it (briefly), it's not an auto - of course, those that don't know what a clutch is could be easily confused :D
