Lightwave

Hey if you use lightwave you should be able to answer my question:
how do you save your files as LWO, when i press save it says "save object" "save object as" "save layer as object" when i click save as the save window comes up i click to save it as something else but it only says "object" or "all Files" can someone please help me thanks guys.
