Changing Rear windshield wiper

this is a probably a very easy question.
I have a 98 rodeo with a rear tire mount. I have never changed the rear windshield wiper. Mostly because I haven't been driving my truck around a lot consistently since ~2002-2003.
Anyways, I bought a new 13" wiper and tried changing it this evening. I found that the rear has some locking mechanism, but I was unable to remove the old wiper at all.
Is there anything I should do to remove it? I thought it would be simpler than it seems.
Thanks

Snap the plastic tab off at the end.

It should be exactly the same as changing the front wipers. Push the little plastic tab and slide the wiper down the wiper arm, away from the hooked end of the wiper arm.
