In the Dukes of Hazzard episode "Daisy's Song",there is a yellow (of course) 1974 "Sports Bug" seen in the driveway of a house in Atlanta when Boss Hogg's Cadillac is being chased by Atlanta cops after leaving a raid on Starr Recording Studio.At this point,that Sports Bug would be over 4 years old.
Also,Cousin Hughie Hogg is chauffered in a Beetle convertible that wasnt originally a convertible.The way the doors are cut and the windshield frame flows rearward,and the fact that the folded convertible top is just a fake (a boot covers nothing for a top),proves that it was at one time a Type 111 sedan 1968-up.Why convert a sedan and not just buy a convertible? Strange,as Cabriolets were still in production around the time the 1st Hughie Hogg episode was filmed.Guess they didnt look too hard and used what they had.
