i have a quick question, im trying to help my mom out with her car and i've never owned anything but camaros, she needs her throttle position sensor and idle air speed control replaced according to the error codes it gives....has anyone ever changed these before and what are the steps in doing so? thanks in advance for any help!

Pretty easy.... they're both attached to the rear of the throttle body, and both are attached with torx head screws (T20 IIRC). while you have the idle air control solenoid out, get a small bottle brush and some air intake cleaner and give the bore the solenoid came out of a good cleaning (good place for carbon build-up).

When you re-install the IAC don't push down on the pintle for adjustment (it can be done, but it can also destroy the solenoid). Just perform the idle relearn at the start of the lumina board.

a more detailed post........

I recommend removing the throttle body which is the unit that contains both the idle control valve and tps sensor the tps sensor is almost impossible to remove without removing the throttle body so its a must.

Just remove airbox then unplug IAT sensor from airbox then remove 2 screws from throttle body one in upper right corner one in left bottom corner i think they are 13mm both then just move the throttle body enoughto get at the torx bolts which come off easily.

before installing the iac valve u may want to put a little oil on it just a little on the pintle and just install both and reverse the process abotu a 10 minute deal

You may have to replace the throttle body gasket I would do so anyway its about $3
