fuses? switch?

my power locks on my 86 caprice just stopped working. when i got the car, the pass. side wasnt working but now my side stopped. is this just a fuse or should i replace the whole switch?

My guess is that it is a switch. Switches in general tend to go bad pretty frequently. If your '86 is similar to my '90 (and I think it is), your power windows are controlled by a circuit breaker, not a fuse.

ok i have a 90 also and i the passenger side only works, where is the "circuit breaker" located at and do you know what the exact name or part number it is?

It should be in the fuse box with the fuses. Check you manual, it should have a diagram in the back of the book with your fuse box with numbers and labels for those numbers. If you can't find it, I will send you a picture copy of mine. Just post your e-mail address.

i got my lock fixed, i just got a new switch from my store, installed it. (only drivers side) then a few days later, my cd player died and my door lock died not long after that. we replaced the fuse for the cd player and the drive side lock started working again, but not the cd player. pass side is still dead but hell, i dont sit there. :)
