hello I have a 1986 cabriolet, its running fine untill about a month ago, then it started acting up.
when I came to a stop or even slow down, it would try to die, and have a winning sound. then i went out to start it the other day it would hardly start then when it did it only ran for about 10 seconds.
ive replaced the spark plugs, the coil pack, checked the fuel pressure to the injectors,it was fine, I cant figure it out. it has a 1.8 liter engine.Ive thought about selling it so if noone can help me the first person with 600.00 is the new owner.

Wow, I hope you haven't given up just yet. I had a hesitation on my 89 and a loud rattling/grinding sound from near the drive pulleys. Turned out the engine was fighting a seized AC compressor. More details here->
