Is there any modern (00-05)Indycar kit in 1/24 or 1/25 scale or do I have to scratch build?

Some have taken the Revell late 90's Indy kits and converted them but you'd have to dig pretty deep for reference material. As far as I know there are no new IRL/CART kits being made....maybe somebody could tell us different.

Nah, seen two Tamiya snap kits, and a few Revell kits from the 1990 indy scene. I like Indy car racing, been looking out for some decent Indy racers.. There aren't that many it would seem.

The Tamiya kits are a little dated to make a conversion. Be sure to check out Indycal they carry a great line of decals and offer some trans kits also. They are very helpful and a good company to deal with.

I remember seeing a resin or similar IRL kit, don't know the details. The Revell 1/25th Reynard kits from 1998-1999 are pretty good and probably not too hard to find. Lots of decal sheets to convert them to some quite stunning liveries from the 2000-2001 season. Since each team tended to go their own way with aerodynamic mods there can be some scratchbuilding involved, particularly with the Penske team IIRC.
As for the latest Champ Car (or whatever they call themselves this week) Lola there is nothing that I know of. I hear Champ Car will be changing to a new Panoz chassis next year, guess that makes it a spec series now?
