sleeper vs. bragger

Ok, I'll admit it. I was wrong about the 3.8/5.7 I can definitely afford an LT1, and the insurance quote I got from geico actually quoted me lower on the LT1 than in an Altima... (confused but not complaining.)
Anywho I'm probably getting ahead of myself, I may not even get the LT1, but... Would you rather keep Z28 badges on it, and put 5.7 inside window decals or would you rather strip the badges and put this (rather stylish) V6 badge on it and go around bragging about your 3.4?

It's currently a toss up for me, I don't want to seem so damned proud of a 3.4... but it may be worth it to see the look on the stang GT kid's face when I destroy his V8.
Anywho to explain the options-
rip off Z28 badges and anyone than knows anything about Camaros will think its a V6 just by looks
Off with the Z28 and place V6 badges (for my friends who prolly don't know that no badge = V6)
Keep Z28 badge
Keep Z28 badge and put "5.7 inside" window decals (as a joke to my 5.0 friend)

keep the z28 badges... changing your badges just makes you a fake.... be proud of the z28

I would keep the z28 badges. It would be fake otherwise. Plus... just by having the badges doesn't mean everyone will think its fast (and it very well could be)

That brings up an interesting question. Why are cars smooth? why Arn't they rough like those skark skin suits that swimmers wear. I think I am going to go cover my car in 20 grit sandpaper...

I'd say no badges if you can afford a nice paintjob that is simple, but grabs attention(graphite grey w/ black stripes or something) or keep the Z28 badges and don't worry about the paint. People will think you are the regular old 305 :iceslolan
That brings up another option, get some 305 badges maybe?

Either remove them or keep them.
Just don't change them out with different ones.

I was very close to putting on 3.8 badges that Andy gave to me. Its funny to see the looks on peoples faces when you boost past them in what they think is a V6 F-body (although there are some bad ass V6 F-bodys around) I also took off the Formula badges on my car except the one in the back but if they are listening/looking back there, they already would have known anyway. Its funny as hell to see Vette's, RX8 and Stangs look puzzled when you tell them its a 3.8 with a exhaust

i would rather have no badges then anything, v6 badges on a LT1 would be lying but if someone assumes its a v6 its their problem

I'd be very proud of my LT1 if I got one. I don't know where half of you guys pick up the assumption that I wouldn't be proud of a V8. Hell, If I didn't like the 5.7 I'd buy a cheaper 3.8.
I'm thinkin more and more 5.7 isn't something I'd want on my window, but I would still mess with my friend in his stock '83 305. I'm probably leaning towards a debadging... so long as I can still put the badges back on afterward. Is that possible? and will the pain look funny under the Z28 badge if I take it off? If so I'll keep it on.
My whole reason for doing this is having everyone think I upgraded from my p.o.s. corolla to a V6, they will undoubtedly make fun of me because I upgraded and they're still faster. Then I'll own them and put my Z28 badges back on after everyone figures it out. If that's not possible I would keep the badges.

It took time to accept I owned an IROC-Z instead of a Z28...but now I'm glad :iceslolan
Hey I actually voted for something and got it right! Keep the Z28 badges and enjoy!

haha i would do the v6...is there any smaller badge? maybe put like 2.0 or something.. go race the lil civics xD ahahah. i would do it just as a prank, cmon guys, you gotta love that. lol, make it total sleeper-style..get a crappy paint job and everything :P well, kinda wasteful on a LT1 car i guess.. :/ maybe i should do it with mine?

10-16-2005, 08:28 PM
why would you want to get a crappy paint job? there are already millions of camaros out there with crappy paint jobs. (like mine)

haha i told you :icon16:
rip off Z28 badges and anyone than knows anything about Camaros will think its a V6 just by looks
anyone who knows anything about v8's will know you're not a v6 just by the sound... so really i think its just retarded to strip it... i wouldn't want someone to think i had a v6... sure i have RS emblems, but my RS did have a v8, now it just has a more powerful one... keep your emblems.
idk i'm really into the factory look, i like my car to look like an extremely clean factory car...
i kinda came into this one late i guess...
