Two More Kills...

After me and my friends got done eating at the local pizza joint, we hopped on the main roadway, which is 2 lanes, each direction..

One of my friends just got a Jeep Cherokee, 4.0L and a 5-speed. He was talkin mad shyt to my friend with the 05 Silverado; 5.3L, Z71. Anywho, the car gods decided to shine down upon them, and the light ahead changed to red. They both lined up, and my friend in the 05 decided to powerbrake it. They both left the line with tires chirping. The Jeep kept up with the Silverado through 1st, and by second, the Silverado walked away like nothing. By 70, it was about 5 car lengths.

I got stuck behind the Jeep, but I quick got next to him, and we punched it from a 50 roll. Needless to say, it was quite anticlimatic.

Anyways, I cought the next light with the Silverado. This would be my first REAL "drag" race since my rebuilt transmission. Time to see how if new tranny could take the abuse..

I powerbraked it to 1500, and left the line in a dash. I walked away from the Silverado from the get go. By 50 I had two car lengths. By 70, almost 5. I decided to kill it at 70, and he does the ol' ricer fly by on me......

....But wait....

Later the night, we decided to head down to the local hang out spot. My friend with the 98 Mustang GT is down there. But lets just say the driver isnt exactly "straight." Anywho, we decided that we would make a WOT run on the highway Sunday..

This is the race I have been waiting for. 4.6L Mustang vs 4.6L Thunderbird...

...STAY TUNED...

I'm pretty sure it's shrinkwrapped in his garage off in a corner behind his two T-birds.

No offense but from my experience that's kinda overkill. :iceslolan

Overkill is good...not racing a mid-low 13 second car is bad.

Yeah, even a Z28 would put a '98 GT to shame. :p

I believe the SS is his dad's car. I mean it wouldn't make sense to not take out the SS otherwise, and drive a bunch of Thunderbird's instead.

What do his T-Birds run anyways? Abd which one is faster?

I would race the Cam too, but the T-Birds are way more sleeper"ish". I say sell one of the T-Birds and use the cash to fix up the other and have a crazy sleeper.

well.. for the simple fact that No one is afraid to run a Thunderbird makes it much more fun. Especially when the shit talking starts..

Anywho, the LX ran a best of 15.94 @ 87. yah yah yah.. with 205/70 BFGoorich Control T/A's in 90* weather.. I'm hoping for 15.3's with the 245/50 in the rear, in ~65 degree weather. (Thats pretty much on par with 96-98 GT's)

The SC is more of a sprinter then a wide open car... although the 5-Speed SC is drag limited to 147mph (no limiter, it simply doesnt have enough power to overcome the wind) Its a "sprinter" simply because the supercharger loses huff at higher RPM's.. i mean.. it makes 315 tq at 2600 RPM's.. for comparisons sake, thats 30less then the LS1...

Good point.

Stick a S/C'd LS1 in your S/C... be different. Be faster.

what kinda mods does his Mustang have, is it a auto or 5speed.

Your TB LXV8 is an auto right.

The Mustang is an auto, with a Hypertech tuner, and a fwnderwell cold air intake.

My LX is an auto, with mods in sig. I'm pretty sure my SC could lay waste to the 'Stang.

BTW, I know its past Sunday.. I was talkin to him today during school, and he said he would give me his number, and to call him when he wants to race.
