BOMZ intakes

I have a 96 Cavalier 2.2L and I was wondering if I should get a BOMZ short ram intake for it. Are there any noticeable performance changes and overall, is it worth getting one?

If you still feel like getting it after reading this follow these 2 steps.

Step 1: Beat head on wall.

Step 2: Repeat step 1 untill either the wall caves in or your forehead does.

Bomz intakes are cheap ebay crap. If you want to go that route then you might as well save a few more bucks and get an AEM filter and cram it onto what ever piece of stock intake pipe it will fit on.

Alright, I guess I won't get one then. Do you know of any really good intakes that are fairly cheap.

Frankly, if you want good parts and good gains you are going to have to crack that wallet open a bit more then a trip to the local walmart. No, Im not trying to be an ass or imply that you are cheap and what not I am mainly trying to get the point across that speed costs. How fast do you want to go.

Most people look at an AEM cold air intake and cant get past the $200 but in the long run you need to think about all the money you save in not only gas but all those damn disposable filters.

Right now in my 04 I have intake, exhaust and a few other air flow/temp improving mods and the few times I can go a full tank with out putting my foot into it too much I can get 430+ miles on a full tank. I doubt I would be getting that if I went cheap on everything. So you see its worth it in the long run to just say screw it.

I know others have their own likes dislikes and facts but as far as Im concerned you cant beat performance and gas saving wise on either AEM or Injen.

Don't listen to this fool pbfreak, he's just one of those senseless noobs, last time I checked, AEM doesnt make an intake for the 2.2, go with an Injen one that's on eBay Injen's just as good as AEM. That's where I got mine from on my 2.2, it was like $210 or something like that.

well go ahead and get yourself that cheap pos, and when the paint comes off because it is shit and the fake ass filter melts and fucks shit up then don't come crying to us. we know from experience not because we are over spenders. very little money goes into my car, and i have tried the cheaper stuff, my cheap intake was too clost to my coil packs and ended up sending a volt from the coil pack to the intake adn then to the hood. not fun replacng all that shit.

and there is a diference in performance between a corvette and a cavalier, thats why you spend 9k on a cavalier and 50k on a vette

You can get a c4:eek:vette in good condition for 8k:eek:and its about three times as fast:eek: . It's gotten to the point where you can't buy any decent used import let alone a supra. They all have stupid shit like fart cans and cold air intakes that in my opinion make the car run worse (unless you tell the computer what to do with all that increased air flow) and of course with all those "high performance" mods, the kids want a fortune for them. And since its so rare to find a stock unmolested one, the guy who is selling one will still want a fortune. Not only that, but the insurance on civics and some other 4 bangers seems to be higher than it should be. Perhaps its because every kid that has one feels the need to get pulled over and crash allot making the car a high risk vehicle.
Maybe im unrealistic, but I just can't get over some of the stuff I see. I really hoped that people would have been smarter. I have a shitty 92 accord EX 5Spd that I use as a beater. It is probably the only accord around that doesn't have "mods". Why? because its not a race car and I know it. I have thought about an H22 swap because I like sleepers, but here again we have a car with 175k miles. It would be a waste of time and money.

Dude you can look everywhere(Locally,Ebay,Websites) most in decent condition under 80K mi c4 vette(84-96) will go for Under $10k. I am lucky to be part of such a great family, my dad has worked hard with his business he started 20 years ago and now he is very blessed. I work at the shop cleaning making $7.50/hr which is very good. My parents arn't the type that spoil kids. They have already had alot of experiance raising kids because i am the youngest of 7. 32,30,28,25,23,19, and me 15 those are the ages.

Ive had enough fun playing around now so im going to ebay now to buy parts for my cav and i apologize if you guys think I was serious:icon16: This is the most fun ive had in forums:grinyes:.

100% Brand New. Never been Tried or Installed. (Cuz no one is freakin dumb enough to put it in their car.)
All Mounting Hardware are Included. (Its a glue stick.)
Add Instant Horsepower (~5-10 hp). (That just made me rofl. And I couldnt think of anything to say to it. =D)
Make Your Engine Produce a Low Rumble. (Haha because its about to die because the filter melted into the intake.)
Easy to Install. Professional Install is highly recommanded. (Do I have to even say anything to that?)

Now that im done bashing your ebay intake, on with all the other hating. Learn what it takes to buy a car instead of getting one from your sister, and then you might have understood why people choose to upgrade them. Why buy a car that can already do what you want? Save some money and actually make the car better yourself. Some people get pride from that. By the way i am running the cosmo WAI on my ecotec motor, and a RSM 62mm throttle body with other mods and have seen a massive improvment in gas mialage and performance. And it bolted up just fine no issues.

By the way i am running the cosmo WAI on my ecotec motor, and a RSM 62mm throttle body with other mods and have seen a massive improvment in gas mialage and performance. And it bolted up just fine no issues.wow!!! I cannot believe this thread has come back. :banghead: to answer you question he ended up coming out and telling us that he is only 15. the argument on this thread was pretty fun actually you should have been here when it first happend. but this kid hasnt said anything in any thread since this so dont worry about him.
