New Malibu's alarm system

I have a 1999, I've been real curious lately. Does it even have an alarm system, I know it I hit the lock button twice it honks, does that even mean anything? :grinno:

Factory 1999 Malibu did NOT have any type of content theft alarm system. It does have a vehicle theft deterrent system though.

The honk is just a feedback to confirm that the fob's message to lock doors was received. It does it on the 2nd press so you don't have to hear it every time
