Boingo all the freaking way, no contest here.

I'm having a hard time choosing between Mentel and Sarujin...IMHO both chops are clean, creative, and looked really hard to do...but both also have backwards text.

boingo82 won my vote b/c by far his is the cleanest. I was also going to pick mentel but he let the water flood the building

Yeah I didn't want the backwards text on mine, thats why i removed quite a few logos, but i was too lazy to remove them all.

It took my forever to find a good commodore front end. How long does it usually take you guys to find the other photos you need?

It takes me forever. I don't know many cars, at all, so I sit there on Google image search with 'desktop size images only' selected searching for random car brands until I find what I want. The front spoiler on the Maxima (no, mentel, it's NOT a Sentra :rolleyes: ) is off a concept Mercedes. I wanted to use it on the last couple shops but the angle and lighting were wrong.

it doesn't usually take me to long, I just goto hotimportnights.com and search through their gallery section to find a car facing near the same angle....then I just modify it so it "looks" like the car was actually facing that direction....the shading part is definitely the hardest part about it I'd say

i goto www.supercars.net and try to find a car i like to shop with.

that "igo4bmx" guy did a pretty good job putting a lexus altezza front and sides on that car!! oh ! and look! ssr gt rims??

i give up on these competitions...............it's ALWAYS quantity over quality, in every single competition i am in, the more shitty mods you do beat's out the less quality mods you do.........so fuck any more contest's, im out.......

I don't think thats how it went this time...if that were true then YellowMaranello, or TOM_S8 would have won. In this competition you and boingo82 had the best "quality" pieces in my mind, both of you should have the most votes. No1 can really appreciate your work as much as you can for only you know how much time you spent on shading etc to get it to look "perfect". This was my first car chop ever and no1 voted for my ass even though I spent at least 4 or 5 hrs on shading the front perfectly so that it would look like that front was actually at the correct angle. I don't know if your mad b/c others got votes or b/c you didn't get as many votes as some1 with a shit quality job. I know what you mean though....b/c when I see some of these chops I am sure that I could have done a better job with the mods....but I guess it just depends on what kind of person you are. Anyways....with that all said I hope you continue on b/c these contests arent about who can get the most votes (unless your some lame right wing loser) its about fun

i understand what ur saying there, but i'm member of 6 diff. photochop club's here in internet land, and i've been in ENDLESS competitions, and pretty much every single competition people with quantity win.......or people that everybody know's..........so like i said, i give up, i keep trying hard to get some good vote's i n the comp's i am in, and it doesnt work, so the next contest that come's i go and try even harder, and still nothing!.......so im just going to save myself the hassle and not co ntin ue to be in any more competition's because apparantly i dont got game........this is how my Real Life is, so i shouldn't exp ect to much on the internet, sho uld i

Hey you may not of got many votes, but only 17 people have voted!! Thats a pitance, who cares what the votes are. Listen to other peoples coments about your work, thats what counts.

I rekon to stop this kind of thing, we should post a link in the offtopics to come vote here, it may even up the voting more.

Mentel: If it's worth anything, I voted for you. I can certainly respect the amount of work that went into that car...frankly, IMHO the thing that hurt you in this competition is that your chop is daring and almost controversial. It's certainly atypical, which I think is why I ultimately chose it, but I can't expect others to think the same.

I hope you continue on in these contests, if only because I think you come up with the edgiest entry for every contest. For me that's the best part, seeing how different people interpret different cars...

88Rex: I'm frankly having a hard time believing this was your first chop...you did an excellent job matching the front, there were no paste marks whatsoever, the vents in front of the rear wheels I liked, and I never would have thought of putting the handles on the wrong sides of the door, that was really cool. I think the only thing is that there was a skyline front the same color used in the GTI comp, so it's kinda 'shades of integra22'. Frankly though I would never have guessed it was a first effort, and trust me next time it'll take you half as long to get your front on. ;)

im unsure of what im going to do now, wether or not im going to stay in these comps. or abandon them........the decision is left decisively up to me.

Actually I am somewhat experienced in PS I just never took my talents to cars b4...and must say its a whole new challenge. I don't know what you mean when you refer to paste marks but I always pay attention to detail to make it look as "real" as possible. Here are the pics I used...first I tried to fit the nsx front on the car but the angle was too much to try and work over so I just used part of the side moulding for my side trim....on the right you can see the skyline picture I used for the front and wheels

Well that was my second ever try using any type of photo-manipulating software. I didnt expect to get any votes, but someone did vote for me. I voted for bonigo because hers was one of the best done. I had a hard time choosing between boingo and mentel. I really respect all the work that went into mentel's shading the front to be the right color and getting it to match perfectly, especially since it started out as yellow. The front bumper on mine started yellow and I just couldnt get it to match no matter what I did. In the end it came down to a coin toss, literally.

Anyway everybody's "bragging" about it's their first chop etc i gotta say this maxima was my second ever chop in my whole lifetime and the first was the S2K from contest #3... i have photoshop like a month or maybe not even a month... and i had to learn most of the things the hard way... that's why i pretty much suck for now...:D

Same here, i wish someone had taught me all the stuff to use, i probably only use about .000007% of all the features on PS

I actually made the kit using the stamp tool ;) (Thanks to your tip in the other thread!)

The stamper is pretty cool, I just wish there was a way to have it sample from one layer and stamp on another layer...

There is, in the tool options palette, select 'Use All Layers'.

i just finished it up in 30 seconds, needs a drop, and need some final touches....it needs ALOT of work, but it looks nice, IMO...looks very marketable
