transmission

i pulled my manual transmission because i was having some shifting problems... It is a 92 small v-6 (2.8 i think) with the new venture gear transmission. I am trying to take the top cover off the transmission but there is this pin in the shift rod that must come out first. Its not a roll pin because theres nowhere to push it out... It looks as if it requires some special tool but its not allen or star or anything else ive ever seen... any ideas or suggestions are appreciated as always!!!
