Washed the Z yesterday. Decided to take some pics. All of them didn't upload yet though, I'll post what I have. All I've done is add 285's and de-badge the Z....The Ford....is just bad ass. It needs a radiator and New B&M shifter cable.... I hope the pics aren't too big. I'll fix them if they are I'll also upload the other 3.

:22yikes: Thats not yours...its too clean!
I wish I could get some new pics, but the jobsite has kept me from pointlessly cleaning my truck for the past 2 months. Looks good man. You should take off the door molding too!

Just washed it for now. Tried some new Rain X wash with the wax beads in it. I wax it about every 5 washes, or 3 months, whichever comes first. It's usually filthy, but I decided to make it look half decent for a day or 2.
As for the door moldings, I can't remove them just yet. The last deer I hit the body shop painted around them on one side, SO......I'm scared it will look bad, but I can always try it anyhow..and I probably will very soon.

Well, if you take the trim off and there is an outline, you might ask the body shop if they would buff it out... Personally, I'd keep the trim, or take it back to the same body shop and see if they'll paint it.

Yep, they are 35x16x15 on Centerline 15x8's. They dont rub anywhere except on the control arm when turned full lock.
If it fits 35s with only a 3"BL, think of what I'll be able to put when I get my Rough Country 6" suspension. It still needs gears though, its got 3.55's and the 400 doesn't like to conserve gas much with the tallish gear ratio.

When I de-badged it, there was an outline around the little symbol thingys. I used a super extra fine rubbing compound to get the paint back to normal and then waxed it several times and it got rid of that. I'm just worried about the paint not being smooth.
I know the body shop will do whatever I ask, the owner is my cousin. I just like the smooth look myself.

Hey... what is that peeking out from under the top of the grile on your Silverado?

Those are my TIR3 LED's. They are SUPER bright. I'll try to get a video of them in action if I can figure out how to. I replaced my grille strobes with them a month ago.

What did you do with the used strobes???
jeverett
10-15-2005, 06:34 PM
Sold them to some guy in Columbus...he gave me $130 for the strobes, red lenses and a 2 outlet Whelen pack.
Sorry man, if I know anyone that wants to get rid of some I'll be sure to let you have first dibs.

Great looking truck man. Personally, I'd leave the side mouldings on it. They're on there for a reason. I know mine get "used" quite a bit in the parking lot at work and at malls and such. :banghead:

That's cool....I didn't know you ran red where you are at. I would have had to buy new lenses too..... Thanks for keeping me in mind though.

:iagree: Maybe just get your cousin's shop to paint the door trim to match your body, but that trim is indispensable when it comes to defending against door dings. Get yours painted, and it will be like mine :evillol: :evillol: :evillol: :evillol: :evillol:

I might do that. I'm about to get some fender flares that I want painted also, so maybe he will cut me a deal on both.

the TIR3 lights are awesome I set up a police k9 expedition used 8 of them, hide away strobes, and a front headliner led bar, rear arrow stick. all black with no markings to tell its a cop car except the spotlight and antennas

Me and the guy I help part time just did a bunch of TIR3's on a Expedition also. Flush mounted them in the luggage rack thing on the rear. You can't hardley see them unless you know what they are.

Spotlights and government tags are always the first thing I look for when i think someone is a cop... they're dead giveaways

I had a simple set of rules for picking cops out at night back in the mid and late 90's when all they drove (in my area) were crown vics:
1) Cops don't drive mercuries
2) Cops don't have foglights
3) Try to look for the spotlight

We don't have spotlights here, and the govt tags are like you said, a dead giveaway, so are 2way antennas.
I could care less about cops here though...they drag race me sometimes in the Vic to see if their little "mods" help LOL
