Hey. As i'm only 15 I have very limited cash, but I've found a 1990 cherokee in decent condition for $500 cdn. The front grille is missing, the paint is peeling, the oil blow-by tube(i think) is broken,it doesnt have rear windshield wiper, and one of the headlight lenses is cracked, but other than that its in good shape and most of those problems are very easy fixes. The one thing I'm concerned about is it's mileage. It has around 320,000km (200,000 miles) so what problems does the average cherokee suffer from around this amount? Thanks in advance.

It depends on how the person(s) before you took care of it. If they beat the living hell out of it and never gave it any love than maybe it's not going to last very long. But if they have taken care of it then it should be fine. I have a 96 with 198,000mi on it and it still runs like a champ with no signs of problems. KBB says that it should be around 1000$ but it could or couldn't be a good deal. Just check it out, take it for a test drive. If you like it then get it. But you can't be too prepared if something were to go wrong.

Yea, I'm gonna be taking it out for a test drive sometime this week. Was just wondering if there are any known problems around that sort of range but I guess not. Will probably also have an auto shop check the engine and transmission.

if it has anti lock brakes with the electric pressure booster instead of the big vacum one with the master cylinder, I would stay clear of it.
