where is the intake runner valve i get a code that the intake runner valve is stuck closed and i lose alot of power when the light is on and it does shut off every now and then cause when the light os off my 96 with v6 will get 2nd gear scratch with an automatic and do close to 115in three blocks but when it is on maybe 90 and my gas milage drops by 7or8 mpg when it is off i get 25 mpg i also have duels on it with a cherrybomb glasspack cause the man said it was to loud but flippin smokers so any help would be very good thanx :banghead:

its probably talking about the IMRC (Intake Manifold Runner Control). Its that silver box on the front valve cover that opens the secondaries. Sounds like your IMRC is broken and its time for a new one.

where are the secondaries are they on the lower manifold the butterflies in there they open at full throttle

yes, they are located in the secondary ports in the lower intake manifold. They should open at 3,200 rpms or 3,700 rpms depending whether your cruising or at wide open throttle. Can you see the linkage moving when you rev the engine from the throttle body?

yes i also got a code for the o2 sensors would that give a code for the imrc and would cleaning the entire upper and lower and tb help that cause when i did clean them the car got louder

No, the 02 codes and IMRC are completely unrelated. Having the car get louder is normal, since the carbon build up is removed and the engine can pull in more CFM.

Do you have the code #s off hand?

no i dont but i dissconected th batt and has not come back on and that was about three weeks ago
